Lee DeWyze will be performing his new single, “Silver Lining” on this week’s (April 25) American Idol Thursday results show. Lee tweeted the news to his followers today.
I want to see Lee and Nigel Lythgoe hug it out on TV! If you’ll remember, the season 9 winner and the Idol executive producer had a little he said/he said battle on twitter.
Lee, perhaps disappointed that he hadn’t been asked to perform on the season 10 finale as the reigning champ, declined to hand off a trophy to the eventual winner, Scotty McCreery. Lee, who was sitting in the audience, insisted that he was asked to present the trophy just minutes before the reveal. Nigel insisted the singer had been asked a week in advance.
Can you say AWKWARD? I assumed Lee would never appear on Idol again after the uncomfortable twitter exchange. But it appears that Nigel, was NOT a producer during Lee’s season, isn’t holding a grudge.
Ariana Grande and Fall Out Boy are also set to perform.
