Leanne Mitchell Wins The Voice UK (VIDEO)

Leanne Mitchell of Team Tom Jones, was crowned the Voice UK winner after a performance of a song that has become a singing competition reality show staple–“It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”. The Voice US runner-up, Juliet Simms and American Idol 3rd place finisher, Joshua Ledet also performed the classic this year. All gave showstopping performances of the tune, but Leanne is the only finalist of the 3 to finish at the top.

Just like the Voice US, The Voice UK ratings dropped after the gimmicky audition rounds.  The UK version lost 7 million viewers and there is already chatter in the press about whether this year’s coaches–Tom Jones, Will.I.Am, Jesse J and Danny O’Donoghue will be returning for Season 2. Read a recap of the finale HERE.

Leanne Mitchell – It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World

Leanne’s Winning Moment

The voting went on in real time as the show progressed.  That plan works just fine in the UK, with viewers pretty much all in the same time zone. The winner was announced at the end of the show.

Here are performances from the finale 4:

Tyler James – Time Will – Higher Love

Well, this is much better than his atrocious semi-final performance, “Bohemian Rhapsody”, but is still think he performs like a drunk person. His arrangement of “Higher Love” is unique, though.

Bo Bruce – Team Danny – Nothing Compares to U

A good fit for her voice, but a bit karaoke, no?

Vince Kidd – Team Jesse J – Many Rivers to Cross

He could have laid off some of the runs.  Vince was the 1st contestant eliminated, earlier in the show.
