Here’s the press release announcing the singers who will perform the National Anthem and God Bless America during the World Series.

Kelly Clarkson is set for Game 3 in Texas on Saturday. The game starts at 6:57 ET on FOX. (I’ll be setting my DVR a little earlier than that just in case).

John Legend, Lady Antebellum will sing the Anthem for games 1 and 2 respectively. Tony Bennett will croon “God Bless America” during Game One.

The release also mentions the MLB World Series of Costumes campaign, featuring Ryan Seacrest and Randy Jackson as judges to take place Game 3. Guess I’ll have to record the entire game!

Additionally, fifteen-time Grammy award-winner Tony Bennett will sing God Bless America during Game One. The World Series begins today, Wednesday, October 27th at AT&T Park between the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers.

John Legend will perform the National Anthem prior to Game One on Wednesday, October 27th. Legend also sung the National Anthem at Yankee Stadium during the 2009 MLB World Series. Legend is an American recording artist and musician. He is the recipient of six Grammy Awards, and in 2007, he received the special Starlight award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Most recently, Legend paired with The Roots on the hit album, Wake Up.

San Francisco icon Tony Bennett will perform God Bless America during Game One. Bennett is an artist who moves the hearts and touches the souls of audiences around the globe. With worldwide record sales in the millions, and dozens of platinum and gold albums to his credit, Tony has received fifteen Grammy Awards including the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. His initial fame came via a string of Columbia singles in the early 1950s, including his signature hit, “I Left My Heart In San Francisco, ” which earned him two Grammy Awards.

Lady Antebellum will perform prior to Game Two on Thursday, October 28th. GRAMMY award winning trio Lady Antebellum’s TRIPLE PLATINUM sophomore album NEED YOU NOW is the biggest selling album in all genres of 2010, spending an astonishing 29 weeks at the top spot on the Billboard Country chart. The title track and multi-week No. one song “Need You Now” has dominated the Country, Top 40, AC and Hot AC charts breaking records as a country crossover hit. Following on the heels of four consecutive number one songs, Lady A’s new single is “Hello World.” The band is currently nominated for five awards at the upcoming CMA Awards and American Music Awards. Lady A first took country music by storm in 2008 with the release of their self-titled PLATINUM debut album.

Kelly Clarkson will perform prior to Game Three on Saturday, October 30th. Global superstar and multiple Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide since she made her debut in 2002. Entertainment Weekly called her last album release, All I Ever Wanted, which debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200, “…sassy, confident and full of power-ballad energy” and USA Today stated “…everything about this project screams hit album.” The album’s first hit single “My Life Would Suck Without You” shattered the Billboard Hot 100 record at the time when it jumped from #97 to #1 in its first week of release. “Already Gone, ” the third single off the album held the number one position on the Hot AC Chart for eight weeks. Clarkson’s follow-up album will be released in 2011.

Clarkson won’t be the only person with American Idol ties involved in the Word Series. American Idol’s Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest will act as celebrity judges for the MLB World Series of Costumes campaign. The World Series of Costumes campaign encourages fans to upload pictures of their kids 12 and under in Halloween costumes at MLB.com/Halloween, with the best of them chosen to appear during the FOX broadcast of Game Three of the World Series on Saturday, October 30. Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest will help determine the winners.
Game Three is scheduled for a 6:57 p.m. ET start, the earliest start for a World Series game in more than 20 years
