Kelly Clarkson’s New Lullaby Inspired by Hoda Kotb’s Daughter (VIDEO)

Kelly Clarkson recorded a new song that was inspired by NBC Today show host Hoda Kotb’s new book, I’ve Loved You Since Forever.  Hoda wrote the book about her 1 year old adopted daughter, Haley Joy.

The host noted on Thursday that once she’d written the book about her daughter, she wondered,  “Wouldn’t that be cool if someone could sing the book?”  Hoda thought of Kelly first. “There is one person I know who has a voice that is in a class by itself,” she said.

On Thursday, Hoda took viewers behind-the-scenes at Atlantic Records, where Kelly was recording the tune. Unsurprisingly, things got a little emotional.

As far as the song’s arrangement, Kelly said, “I made it more like a lullaby, like James Taylor, like there’s kind of some Patty Griffin in it.” She added “I hope we do it justice.” Check out the official music video for “I’ve Loved You Since Forever” below.
