Kelly Clarkson Wins Best Host Daytime Emmy! Thanks Husband

Congratulations to Kelly Clarkson! After only one season as the host of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, the American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach nabbed Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host at the Daytime Emmys!

Kelly can’t believe she won!

Kelly thanked her estranged husband, Brandon Blackstock on Twitter for “believing in me & convincing me” to do the show.

Hopefully, she and Ryan Seacrest can remain friends, after she beat him out in the category. Live with Kelly and Ryan were shut out of all their categories.

Kelly’s show was also nominated for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show, but that award went to The Ellen Show. Maybe Kelly will dethrone the Queen next year!

The Kelly Clarkson Show also won the Outstanding Lighting Direction and Outstanding Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design. BIG congratulations all around.

She’s coming for fellow The Voice coach John Legend’s EGOT status!

Kelly’s bud, Late Night host Seth Meyers offers his congratulations.

Worth noting: American Idol season 10 finalist Thia Megia was nominated in the Outstanding Younger Performer in a Drama series for the role she played in NBC’s soap opera, Days of Our Lives. However, her costar, Olivia Rose Keegan won the award.

Awards were handed out Friday night (June 26) during a two hour remote telecast that aired on CBS. 2011 was the last time the Daytime Emmys aired on broadcast TV. The 47th annual Daytime Emmys were emceed by the hosts of CBS’ The Talk: Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Marie Osmond.

  1. W0W. I really did not expect Kelly to win the first time she was nominated, and against that field…super cool! ?…Looks like she was startled by the news too! ?

  2. She’s amazing. In the first year! Well deserved! She deserves a lot of credit to its success.

I’m hopeful these two can work it out. I was surprised she thanked him even if before she expressed how he pushed her to go for it. It must mean it is amicable.

She’s been open about her depression more than ever this week and clearly there is still a lot of love between them. Maybe these two will work it out.

  3. Not that surprised she won honestly. I never liked talk shows before hers. More than deserved, congratulations Kelly! So happy for her.

  4. Professionally Kelly’s on a roll! Personally not so much! Too bad she can’t have it all but congratulations on this win; it’s a big one! I guess all the bad press re: Ellen hasn’t hurt her much she’s still winning. I wish Ryan Seacrest could get some recognition from his peers? Is he on some blacklist?

  5. Love love love what her show looks like from the outside! I follow it on their YouTube page and love the Kellyoke segments!

    Well deserved! :D

  6. Personally not so much? How do you know? She may have gotten out of a marriage that was holding her back and making her unhappy. She is the one who filed for divorce. Just because she will be single now does not mean her personal life is not “on a roll”. There is nothing wrong with getting out of a toxic relationship and being single. She has a hit talk show, great music career, Vegas residency, kids, and seems to be happy. Seems like a good life to me.

  7. I was really hoping she would beat Ellen who I feel she has easily replaced. Ellen is so fake, and from everything I’ve heard about her is terrible behind the scenes. Kelly is humble and sweet and SO good at her show and so genuine. Kelly’s the new Daytime Queen. Move over, Ellen.

  8. The best part of posting ones opinion is there is always someone to tell you how wrong your are and their opinion is the correct one. Wonderful how this all works!

  9. Incredible achievement. First season as coach she won and now she gets a host award on her new daytime talk show. Also good to hear that Thia Megia’s gaining ground in the acting industry.
