Kelly Clarkson stopped by the Today show this morning to promote her new Christmas album, Wrapped in Red, and NBC Christmas special, Kelly Clarkson’s Cautionary Christmas Music Tale, airing on NBC on Dec. 11.
The American Idol alum and pop star talked about her pregnancy–she recently announced via twitter she was having a baby with husband Brandon Blackstock (The were married on October 21), her Christmas album and more.
“I don’t know why they call it morning sickness — that’s my big joke right now,” she told Today. “‘Cause it’s like all day and all night. I’m just looking forward to the second trimester!”
Kelly said she and Brandon were “dying to tell people” she was pregnant, but wanted to wait until the pregnancy was a little farther along. But her morning sickness prompted her to announced sooner rather than later.
“I had to cancel something because I’d been so ill, so I didn’t want people to think I was canceling (because) I was lazy or something, so we just told people. But we had a really good reason,” she said.
Kelly doesn’t know the sex of her baby, but intuition is telling her it’s a girl. “She’s killing me. Of course it’s a girl, causing the trouble.” Kelly and Brandon have baby names picked out, but they aren’t telling.
