The Voice’s Chloe Kohanski Reveals She Didn’t Actually Audition – What was the process you went through when you made the decision to audition for The Voice? This is going to sound crazy, but I didn’t audition for the show. There are so many ways to get involved with The Voice. There is the open call, which tons of people are from. Of the people that you saw that made it past the Blinds, the majority are from open call auditions. They went through every round before you see the Blinds. But weirdly enough, I received a phone call. I have been playing in Nashville for, like, four years and someone saw me at a show and they got my contact info and called and they were like, “Do you want to audition for The Voice? We will fly you out,” so that is what I did. – Read more at Parade

Danielle Bradbery Talks Songwriting & Sharing Vulnerabilities on Second Album ‘I Don’t Believe We’ve Met’ – “Getting in the room with writers at first was scary,” Bradbery tells Billboard as she settles into a chair at her publicist’s office in Nashville. “I was young and I had a natural shyness to me. I had to open up a little more, too.” Bradbery admits that while her initial approach to songwriting was uncomfortable, it soon came naturally for her. She slowly overcame her shyness by convincing herself that her co-writers had been through it all and had talked and written with many artists before her. Pretty soon she gained friendships by opening up and getting to know her co-writers, something she says paid off within the songs they wrote together. – Read more at Billboard

Luke Bryan Is in Awe of Fellow ‘American Idol’ Judges Katy Perry & Lionel Richie – He and Perry are both in the midst of touring while also finding the next music star on Idol, but he says that no matter how exhausted they may be, Perry is always a consummate professional. “She shows up and she’s locked in. I couldn’t have any more respect for her. She certainly knows when to be one of the guys and she certainly knows when to flex pop star muscle, which is pretty cool,” Bryan raves. “Me and her and Lionel do dissect the talent very similarly. It’s hard for us to feud because we really, really see what’s going on. The only thing we’re going to feud in is whether one of us is just wanting to gamble with a contestant.” – Read more at TasteofCountry

Katharine McPhee on her new “makeout” album & her “crazy” “American Idol” show idea – Katharine performs Monday on Live with Kelly & Ryan. And speaking of Mr. Seacrest, Kat says she’s “oddly curious” about ABC’s reboot of American Idol, because her pal Lionel Richie told her that he and the other judges have great chemistry. “I thought I wouldn’t be interested, and I’m very interested,” she says. But Kat also has her own idea for an Idol reboot: “I’ve had crazy dreams about [them] reviving the show with me, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry [and] Jennifer Hudson…and having [us] all compete against each other and have America vote all over again,” she laughs. – Read more at ABCNewsRadio
