Watch Kelly Clarkson and Cyndi Lauper join forces on a duet of “True Colors” from Friday’s (Oct 18) The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Cyndi played the dulcimer while the two harmonized and the American Idol OG winner and The Voice coach took a solo. “That was like a dream come true for me, thank you,” Clarkson told Lauper afterward.

“True Colors,” one of Cyndi’s most beloved hits, was the title track from Cyndi’s 1986 album and was written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly.

There is no dearth of music on The Kelly Clarkson Show. Kelly kicks off the show every day with a different cover song, and   often duets with her guests. For instance, earlier this week, she and Broadway Star Ben Platt performed an original arrangement of Bob Dylan’s “To Make You Feel My Love.”
