Kelly Clarkson has recorded “It’s Quiet Uptown” for The Hamilton Mixtape. The collection features artists from across the musical spectrum covering songs from the smash hit Broadway musical, Hamilton.

The Roots, Usher, Alicia Keys, Chance the Rapper, Busta Rhymes, Sia, Regina Spektor and Ben Folds are a few of the artists who participated in the compilation.

The full set will be out on December 2, but pre-order is available NOW at iTunes, as is “My Shot” featuring The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz and Nate Ruess plus Kelly Clarkson’s tender, emotional rendition of “It’s Quiet Uptown.”

Kelly’s song comes in Act 2 of Hamilton and it describes Alexander Hamilton and his wife Eliza’s unimaginable grief as they try to come to terms with their son’s death. Kelly was pregnant with HER son Remy, if you can imagine that.

Good luck getting through the song without a box of tissues handy. Kelly Clarkson stuns as always.
