Jimmy Fallon, Taylor Hicks and Stephen Colbert did it. So did the Glee cast. And now Katy Perry has covered the Rebecca Black smash “Friday” in concert.
Katy is so into it, she mouths the words “I love this song”, which makes me wonder if the “Friday” internet meme is shifting. Is the song that was considered “So bad it’s good, ” now beginning to be considered just plain good?
Well, I still think it sucks.
In other news, A dispute with her producers resulted in Rebecca forcing “Friday” off the internet. She actually had You Tube remove the video due to a copyright infringement. Popdust has the timeline HERE.
Whether legit or not, “Friday” is back up on the internet, however. There’s no keeping the monster down! eta: Or not. It was taken down again!
