NBC must have high hopes for the musical drama Smash, featuring Idol alum, Katharine McPhee, because they’ve been pimping the hell out of it during all their major broadcasts. If the show catches on, it could make Katharine a break-out star 5 years after she competed on Idol and won runner-up to Taylor Hicks.
