Can you believe it’s been TEN years since Katharine McPhee graced the American Idol stage with her iconic performance of the classic Judy Garland tune, “Over the Rainbow?”
It’s true. The singer, now a star on hit CBS show, Scorpion, was barely 22 years old when she wowed American Idol season 5 fans in 2006 with her ethereal performance of the classic. The song cemented her place in the finals, where she was a runner-up to the unstoppable Taylor Hicks.
Katharine came back to American Idol this week to reprise the song for nostalgia loving fans. It’s still a lovely rendition.
