Katharine McPhee – Christmas Album Audio Clips Plus, “Say Goodbye” Video Premiere

We’ve got a couple of premiers from Katharine McPhee today. Listen to clips from her upcoming holiday album, Christmas Is The Time …. (To Say I Love You), set to be released by Verve Forecast on October 12th.  Plus her melancholy music video for “Say Goodbye” from her last album, Unbroken, premieres on VEVO today. Check out both, after the jump.

The new record, Katharine’s 3rd studio album, is a mix of traditional and contemporary tracks with a few surprises mixed in–an original song co-written by Katharine and the title song, a 1981 Billy Squier tune.  The adult ontemporary vibe is a little snoozy and old-fashioned for me, but I could change my mind after I hear the full cuts. What do you think?

The music video is beautifully shot and features Jesse Spencer from House as Katharine’s  love interest.

  1. Kat –“Hopefully you will find my versions unique but at the same time timeless; full and rich yet simple and intimate.”

Yes Kat’s Christmas CD is timeless, full and rich. Her vocals are superior. Every family will love playing her Christmas music during the Christmas holiday. A timeless classic in the making.

  2. Man..the guy in the Vid sure looked like Jesse Spencer (Dr. Chase from House). Whether it is or not is beside the point..but the fact the guy is some soulfoul eye-candy made the video worth watching.

Actually, I like Kat’s voice and I have to give kudos to her and her team for keeping her image out. She hasn’t slunk into a corner but is working all the angles to keep herself known…and I like that.

  3. Yes that’s Jesse Spencer from House in the Say Goodbye video! I like that song. It’s a really sad video but it fits.

  4. I loveee the video! So glad we got another video from Unbroken era!!!

OMG THESE PREVIEW CLIPS. Who Would Imagine A King is flawless!! And her original track is going to be so good!!

  5. Does anyone think that Victoria Justice from Victorious on Nick is the spitting image of Katharine McPhee? I think it’s kind of amazing!

  6. I’m a sucker for Christmas albums, and I’ve been hoping Kat would do this since she was on Idol. Her voice sounds incredible, and her return to the brown hair makes me more excited than I think I should be.

I also hope they’ll give her plenty of media spots to perform and advertise this throughout the season. She could have a real success for years to come if they play it right.
