I’m a little late with this. Tax Day in the United States was Wednesday, but it’s too cute to pass up.

Katharine McPhee, current Scorpion star and American Idol alum, joined forces with James Corden on the Late Late Show to sing a medley of Tax Day Carols.

Tax woes are sung to the tune of familiar Christmas Carols.

Speaking of music–those of you who miss Katharine’s singing voice since she took on a dramatic TV role won’t have to wait much longer for something new. She recently told The Hollywood Reporter at a Los Angeles store opening that new music is coming soon!

“I am putting out a new single in a couple weeks,” revealed Katharine. The song, titled “Lick My Lips” was written by Florence and the Machine member Isabella Summers. The tune will be the first single from Katharine’s forthcoming album–title and release date to be determined.

“The song is very tongue-in-cheeky and samples a Luther Vandross song. It’s a fun summer song, and I’m excited about the body of work as far as the album goes because this record is something I’m very connected to — like a diary of what I’ve been through.”

Katharine just wrapped a Diane Martel-directed music video shoot to support the single.
