Jurnee Leaving American Idol Live Tour for 30 Day Vocal Rest

The American Idol Live tour already has a casualty of sorts. Top 7 singer Jurnee posted a message on Instagram informing fans that she’s taking a 30 day break from the tour due to vocal cord issues.

Due to a vocal chord [sic] issue, I’ve been advised to take a 30 day vocal rest in order to keep my voice strong for years to come. I’m so disappointed, but I have to step away from American Idol Live! for now. I plan to return sometime in August and cannot wait to see you all there! Please keep supporting my friends on tour and know I’m there with them in spirit!

Jurnee is not the first singer to take a break/leave an American Idol tour. Katharine McPhee missed the first 3 weeks of her tour due to Bronchitis and Laryngitis back in 2006. Season 13’s Dexter Roberts left the tour due to Rocky Mountain Spotted Tick Fever.

Season 2 runner up Diana Degarmo broke her foot causing her to miss dates on the tour. Bo Bice in season 4 missed weeks during the end of his American Idol Live run.

In any case, hope Jurnee can overcome her issues and re-join the tour as soon as possible.  Next, American Idol Live heads to Texas for a trio of dates beginning on Thursday (June 19) in Grand Prairie.
