Jordin Sparks Joins Britney Spears “Circus” Tour

Yes kids, don’t rub your eyes. You read that headline correctly. Jordin Sparks is joining the Britney Spears Circus tour, beginning in New York City, on August 24:

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 14 /PRNewswire/ — Platinum-selling 19 Recordings/Jive Records artist Jordin Sparks will join “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” as special guest on the second North American leg of the tour. Sparks will perform on the U.S. portion of the trek including dates in New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Detroit, Chicago and more before concluding on September 26 & 27 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV. Previously announced opening act Kristinia DeBarge will join the tour for all dates; while up-and-coming acts Girlicious and One Call will appear in select cities (see full details below). For tickets, VIP packages and detailed tour information, fans should visit www.britneyspears.com or http://aeglive.com/.

“Britney’s show is incredible and for me to be a part of it is a great opportunity, ” said Sparks.

“The Circus Starring Britney Spears, ” a dazzling display of music, dance, magic and theatrics, kicked off in New Orleans on March 3 and is the highest grossing tour of 2009 in North America to date.

Jordin just finished touring with another successful act, the Jonas Brothers. She’s managed by the Bros dad– though setting her up with his own kids wasn’t exactly a coup. Heh.

An interesting juxtaposition going on there between sweet, virginal Jordin and bad-girl Brit Brit. It’ll expose Jordin to peeps who probably haven’t been exposed to her. So, that’s a good thing…

I wonder if she’ll take the stage with Brit Brit like she did the Jo Bros?   She and Brit could duet on “Battlefield”!

Just kidding…
