American Idol 2007 winner Jordin Sparks releases steamy “You Call My Name” video
Jordin Sparks released a new music video for her latest single, ‘Call My Name,’ on Friday (Oct 20)
The American Idol season 6 winner releases the Alfredo Flores-directed video a week after she released the singer. The steamy and sensual music video stars her real-life husband, Dana Isaiah.
“Sometimes I weep ’cause I feel lost, you know / Like I don’t know where to go / That’s until you / You call my name, name, name,” the lyrics go. “You call my (You call my name) / And I feel strong enough to move a building / You can call on me, fall on me / Feel like I can take on anything When you call my name, mm.”
The clip was filmed at the Malibu Estate of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Lloyd Wright. Jordin wrote the single along with Dwayne Abernathy, Mathew Jarragin, Nicholas Stone, Matisse Pasillas, and Cole Fredrick. Jordin’s husband manages her and is listed as is listed as a producer on the clip.
“The ‘Call My Name’ video is out now!” Jordin wrote on Instagram. “I had such an amazing time creating this video with @alfredoflores and the team! I hope you all enjoy it!”
Jordin set to release an album in 2024
In an earlier post, Jordin wrote, “‘Call My Name’ is an ode to a love so full, effortless and pure—there’s a peace and contentment within it.” The singer continued, “You’ve all witnessed my rocky road in love and now you can hear the culmination of what I’ve learned and now know in my bones. It’s produced and co-written by, my favorite alien genius, @demjointz (incominggg!), who has spent what feels like years with me in the studio to create this next project.”
“Call My Name” is a preview of the singer’s upcoming album, which is set for release in 2024. The release will mark the fifth studio album, as well as her first full-length release since 2020.
Jordin recently appeared on the Dove Awards
Jordin recently appeared on the Dove Awards, which recognizes music from Christian and Gospel artists. She performed her collaboration “Love Me Like I Am” with For King and Country. Watch the performance below.
