Jordin Sparks attended the launch of of her new “Because of You” fragrance at The Bryant Park Hotel today (October 6) in New York City. Dots, a fashion apparel store for women, will be the exclusive retailer of the fragrance through November 5, 2010.

Sparks, an avid fan of fragrances, was highly involved in the development of her signature scent to ensure that it would be unique and represent her young and vibrant personality and embrace her creative force. The “Because of You” scent infuses Clementine, White Imperial Currant and Orange Blossom top notes with Orchid, Coral and Peony mid notes, along with underlying Sheer Musks, Vanilla, Amber and Woodsy base notes. Sparks’ fragrance is priced at $14.95 for a 2.5 oz. Eau de Parfum, but Dots will offer it at an introductory price of just $9.50 through the month of October.
Only $14.95? I think I’m going to buy me a bottle. I’ve always wanted to smell like an Idol. OK, not really, but I may buy a bottle for research purposes. I’ll write it off my taxes!

No, Jordin didn’t name her new scent after the Kelly Clarkson song!
Her new fragrance line, “Because of You” was thoughtfully named by Sparks to pay tribute to those who have helped her to achieve her dreams. Just as many celebrities have done, Sparks has used her fame to enact positive change. She’s proven to be a role model for other women through various charity work, including her own project I’m M.A.D. Are You? campaign.
