Jennifer Hudson is ready to rock in Philly for Welcome America – Hudson is a perfect example of how not winning the title of American Idol can actually be a boon to your career and not necessarily the end of all your dreams. “And even though I didn’t win, I felt it was a wonderful experience and helped jumpstart my career. In fact, I feel as though I’ve been on an ‘American Idol’ rollercoaster and I haven’t gotten off since,” says the Chicago native. And now Hudson is gearing up to help celebrate the 2019 Wawa Welcome America July Fourth concert performing with the Philly POPS Big Band at the Party on the Parkway. – Read more at PhllyTrib.com

Jordin Sparks Opens Up About the ‘Terrifying’ Parenting Moment She Wishes She Could Redo – The “No Air” singer, 29, recently sat down for a chat with PEOPLE’s Celeb Parents Get Real, where she recalled a moment where her ability to stay calm helped her in an unprecedented (and potentially dangerous) situation with her 13-month-old son Dana Isaiah Jr., a.k.a. DJ. “I’m grateful nobody got hurt … I didn’t think there was anything in the pantry. I was like, ‘Oh, it’s just a pantry, it’s food, cool.’ I turned around to put something down, [then] I turned around and he had a huge grill knife in his hand,” Sparks recalls of the scary incident. – Read more at People

Inside Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s ”Perfect” Honeymoon in Italy – Katharine McPhee and David Foster are celebrating their first few days as a married couple in Italy. The two tied the knot on Friday, June 26 in a fairy tale-like ceremony at the church of St. Yeghiche Armenian Church in South Kensington, London. The 35-year-old star walked down the aisle in a custom, strapless Zac Posen ball gown, which featured a sweetheart neckline and billowing skirt. For the reception, she changed into her “something blue” and donned a ravishing silk cocktail dress. Foster opted for a classic tux for both the ceremony and reception. – Read more at EOnline

Meet Carly Rose: Child prodigy, reality TV flameout and your next indie-pop queen – A provocation? Sure. But Rose also knows what she’s talking about: Though “Birds & Bees” marks her debut as a recording artist, the song arrives years after she abandoned her first crack at a pop career. In 2012, Rose — then all of 13 and using her surname, Sonenclar — finished in second place on “The X Factor,” the televised singing competition on which she was mentored by Britney Spears. Her success on the show led to plenty of high-level attention, including a development deal with “X Factor” honcho Simon Cowell’s Syco company. “I had all these big managers telling me, ‘We’re gonna make you a star’ — really the most cliche ‘A Star Is Born’-type scenario,” Rose recalled recently with a bit more of that over-it attitude. – Read more at LA Times
