The Glee cast is celebrating the show’s 300th musical performance today, and Ryan Murphy is letting slip some spoilers for later on in the season.

Jonathan Groff, who played Jesse St. James in Season 1 and Season 2 will make a 4 episode appearance later this season as the coach of rival Glee club, Vocal Adrenaline. You might remember that Jesse, who had an on again off again relationship with Rachel, was the Vocal Adrenaline lead singer in Season 1. Season 2 found him coaching his rivals–with his clients taking very little of his advice

Ryan says that Glee Project runner-up, Alex Newell, would “have many scenes” with Jonathan (and will be the love child of Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Mercedes (Amber Riley) asking them both for advice). So, Alex’s two episode arc as Glee Project runner up has been expanded? (Via TVLine)

Speaking of that 300th performance celebration (filmed for Episode 6 called “Mash Off”)  the Glee kids have been tweeting excitedly about it all day. Here are the highlights:

@CoreyMonteith: I can’t believe we’ve actually done 300 performances on Glee… amazing. time flies when you’re having fun :) kudos to the crew!

@DamianMcGinty: 300th musical number day on set!! Makes me proud to be a new part of this incredible show. #35millionrecords

@LittleLengies: (Vanessa Lengies -Sugar Motta) On set performing the 300th music number on #glee ! Amber and Naya sing it out of the park… I dance my rump off in support ;-) Go TTones!

@chriscolfer: In honor of our 300th musical performance today the cast has dressed up like Spartans and are beating each other with spears! (Ha! My personal favorite)

@DruidDude: (Kevin McHale) “#300thGleeMusicalNumber today! And we’re doing a legend’s music! Couldn’t be more appropriate!”

@DarrenCriss: “What a special day on set today, we’re celebrating our 300th musical number! #Glee”

@msleamichele: (Lea Michele) “Rise and shine! Got some good sleep last night. At work about to do our 300th musical number!! Can you believe that!? #gleeseason3”

More spoilery stuff (Honestly, some of this is old news if you’ve been following our spoiler posts for Episode 4, Episode 5 and Episode 6.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

  • Samuel Larson will appear in either Episode 10 or 11 — taking place after the show’s Christmas break in January — when school is back in session and a new semester returns.
  • Lindsay Pearce will also return in Episode 8 as the “Rachel of her school, ” Murphy said, noting that she’d be competing against “our groups” — perhaps indicating she’ll face off with both McKinley glee clubs.
  • New edition.Speaking of rival glee clubs, filming for the 300th musical performance featured McKinley’s other group, which in addition to Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Santana (Naya Rivera) has another big New Directions defector: Brittany (Heather Morris) (an Adele mashup of “Rumor Has It” and “Someone Like You”)
  • Graduation. With graduation looming, Murphy reiterated that just because kids graduate doesn’t mean that they can’t be a part of Glee. “We haven’t figured out what that is yet, ” he told reporters Wednesday, noting that writers were at work on the eighth script of the year and much still depended on what show’s actors wanted to do. “We talk about that every day, ” Murphy said.
  • Tribute time. Murphy said there will be one tribute episode during Season 3, and that it’s been in the works for two years.
  • Pete Townshend offering songs from his library and that he’s having dinner soon with Barry Manilow.

From EOnline:

  •  Glee Project winner, Damian McGinty, on his character, Rory Flanagan: “He’s having a hard time fitting it and getting bullied a lot. He’s very young and very happy.” You could tell how much the cast loved Damian as they laughed and clapped after almost everything he said. Didn’t we tell you? Adorable.
  • The rival group was in the choir room performing an Adele mashup of “Rumor Has It” and “Someone Like You”, and it was so awesome it’ll melt your ears off when you hear it. We’d go as far to say it was one of the best mashups ever. Adele herself recently listened to it and “loved it” and “approved it personally, ” according to Ryan.
  • A particular Adele song seemed to be dedicated from one person to another during a solo. Can’t say much more about that. Except that a certain fanbase will freak.
