This story regarding the 10 sore losers ex Idol contestants who are suing American Idol for racial discrimination had it’s very own news cycle back in January. But here we are, discussing it again! And now, disgraced Season 11 contestant, Jermaine Jones has something to say about it. Well actually, he commented on the lawsuit during the last go around too. But heh. It’s a slow news morning, so why not indulge in a little deja vu.
Despite being disqualified and embarrassed by the American Idol producers after TMZ uncovered outstanding warrants Jermaine failed to divulge to the Idol staff, the singer isn’t holding any grudges. In fact, he told The Hollywood Reporter that he believes claims that the show is racist are “ludicrous.”
“I think they are going a little overboard,” the season 11 alum, who was disqualified after making the Top 11, tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Jones dismisses their allegations as “ludicrous.”
“Some of these cases are over 10 years old,” he argues. “What have you been doing since the show that you feel you deserve $25 million?”
It’s all water under the bridge, as far as Jones is concerned. “God don’t like ugly,” he says. “You can’t win when you are ugly.”
Ironically, Jermaine has the best attitude of the bunch, despite being literally shamed by the producers in front of millions of television viewers. The 10 going for a big payday who are part of the lawsuit were either merely eliminated or disqualified off camera, unlike Jermaine who was called out in a video clip aired on the show.
By the way, Jermaine is auditioning for the 6th season of The Voice in New York City on Sunday. “I want to be on either Adam Levine’s team or Cee Lo Green’s team,” he revealed to THR.
It’s Jermaine’s second go-round auditioning for The Voice. So, good luck with that. Cee Lo won’t even be appearing on season 6. (I wonder how Jermaine feels about Usher? Cause Usher and Shakira will be back on the panel in the spring.)
