RadarOnline is reporting that Jennifer Lopez’s manager, Benny Medina, has been in talks for a return to the American Idol judges table.
Jennifer Lopez has told FOX executives she wants an American Idol redux in the wake of Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson‘s exits.
“J.LO’s manager, Benny Medina, was in talks with FOX even before Mariah and Nicki announced their departures last week,” a source told RadarOnline.com.
“Benny told FOX that she does indeed want to return. They’re talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they’re underway to get her back to the judges’ table.”
According to “sources”, there are some at FOX who want her to return, and others who believe an all-Idol alum panel comprised of Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Hudson and either Clay Aiken or Adam Lambert is the way to go.
This looks like a big re-hash of last week’s rumors, but I thought I’d throw it out there anyway. Who knows what the panel will look like when it’s finally announced in September.
I HOPE there’s no Jlo. The new panel brought some renewed interest in Season 10 when Jennifer and Steven Tyler joined, but by the end of Season 11, they were both pretty useless. If veteran Randy Jackson was forced to leave the panel, why on earth would FOX bring back Jlo? If she does come back, I’ll bet she takes a pay cut from that 15m-18m she was reported to earn for S10 and 11.
