Watch Jennifer Hudson’s Powerful Bob Dylan Cover March For Our Lives VIDEO

Jennifer Hudson closed the March for Our Lives rally on Saturday (March 24) in Washington DC with a moving gospel rendition of Bob Dylan’s classic “Times They Are a Changin.”

The American Idol alum and The Voice coach performed with the D.C choir as backup. Speaking of which–The Voice fans might recognize the big haired soloist to Jennifer’s right as Davon Fleming, who competed as a member of Team Jennifer on season 13 last fall.

“We all came here for change today,” Jennifer told the crowd during her performance. “We’re all here for a reason. We’ve all got a story; we’ve all got a purpose. And we all want change.”

It’s no wonder Jennifer was so moved during her performance. She understands the devastating effects of gun violence first hand. In 2008, her mother, brother and nephew were shot to death by her sister’s ex-boyfriend.

The powerful performance concluded with the survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and others affected by gun violence joining Jennifer on stage for the last chorus. Watch the emotional performance below.

Davon posted a photo of himself with Jennifer and fellow The Voice coach Miley Cyrus, who also attended the march.
