Maddie Poppe: A lot of the other contestants on the show are doing bigger numbers. A lot of like “wow” show moments. I’m going to strip it back and just do me and a few other guitars just because that’s kind of the vibe that I like. I think that it fits what I was doing on the show, so I’m doing more of an acoustic set. – Read more at Argus Leader

Camila Cabello, Harry Styles, Kelly Clarkson on How Simon Cowell Built His Hit Factory – “Look at the careers of artists that Simon has been a part of and you will most likely find one common denominator: confidence,” Clarkson says. “I’m not sure that Simon could ever work with people that are insecure, and if he has or does, I’m almost certain he would be annoyed by it. Simon has been a part of so many careers and all the artists are very different from one another, but I do think, for the most part, he is attracted to working with people that know who they are, are good humans and are hard workers.” – Read more at Variety

  1. Casey James singing a teaser from his new music today —this sounds like the Groove is HEAVILY Blues, and I’m loving it! Can’t wait to hear more! Seems he is planning to debut some of the music from his new record at The Woodlands in Texas this weekend…

  3. I did not know that Adam came up with the title “The Crown Jewels”.

  4. Heh. It was sitting right there on my IG follow list, so I scooped it up! ? I am waiting to buy, as soon as it gets released…the last new slice of a bluesy sound I bought was Gary Clark Jr’s “Bright Lights”. Ready to put some new notes in rotation! ???

  5. Check out @KinkyBootsatBat.. and David up for playing at the Heckscher ball fields in Central Park, Broadway Show League, at 8:30 in the morning??

  6. I don’t know if he looks younger, but in general, Latinos have such great skin texture which allows them to age gracefully. Look at J-Lo.

  7. I saw that their on-stage seats were selling for $1400. That could have been for their closing show.

  8. I seem to remember hearing a song by Gary Clark Jr., maybe on an awards show? Was “Bright Lights” that song, or is it the album? Either way, do recommend it as a purchase?

  9. I bought the track after hearing it done on Idol, it is from a 4 song EP…and I do recommend it! Here’s the RS review ….https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-album-reviews/bright-lights-103106/

”…a genuine 21st-century bluesman, raised on the form in all its roughneck roadhouse glory but marked by the present day? That’s been as hard to find as a 21st-century clockmaker.

It’s on rotation in one of my daily playlists; if the description in the review speaks to you…check it out?

  10. The lack of gray hair is also a big help, lol. That can add 10+ years to your look.

  11. Not taking anything away from him, but this just seems like common sense to me. However, there might be a lack of that these days.

    Some interesting answers in there:
“1. How is this run as Charlie Price different than the first time in Kinky Boots?

I think the most obvious is that the first time I was starting effectively from “step one”. I really started from the beginning, figuring out my voice within Charlie and where I can get Charlie to sit. This time, I was starting with more of a base, and what I love about that is that it’s allowed me to find new things and nuances with this character that either I couldn’t last time or just didn’t have the time to find last time. This time has been more challenging, in the context of just trying to find the nuance within Charlie.”

  13. He didn’t. It’s the name of a 8 CD box set of Queen’s first 8 albums, released in 1998.

  15. Just like they named their last big tour after one of their albums, Queen could have done the same for the Vegas tour after any of their other albums or used the same title of the last one. Adam suggested they go with “The Crown Jewels,” after another one of their works, for the Vegas Residency. They had a lot to choose from but Adam liked that one for this tour and they agreed it was a perfect fit. They often use some of his suggestions about their tours.

  16. Adam suggested they go with “The Crown Jewels,” after another one of their works, for the Vegas Residency.

Yes, It always surprises me how much input Adam has. Brian has said Adam is very involved with lighting, staging, choosing color schemes among other things with this tour. I also love that Brian and Roger have such healthy egos with letting Adam be front and center when it comes to representing them to the media and with him getting all the attention that he does with QAL like a true frontman should.
