Jennifer Hudson was so impressed with 12 year old Savannah Robinson’s rendition of “And I Am Telling You” that she agreed to sing a duet with the young singer on The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Savannah is the latest pre-teen you tube prodigy to be championed by Ellen. The fad, which began with Justin Beiber, seems to be still going strong. Unfortunately.
Savannah has a pretty sturdy set of pipes, but at 12, she’s still only imitating her Idols. Note to Ellen: The meme is beyond boring now.
Jennifer was very generous to her tiny duet partner, trying not to completely blow her off the stage with her own prodigious talents. The key word here is “try”. Nevertheless, Savannah was thrilled to share the stage with Jennifer. Jennifer handed Savannah some passes for her upcoming and tour and promised she’d be invited up on stage to sing another duet.
Speaking of that tour, Jennifer announced that her summer tour, sponsored by Weight Watchers, would begin on June 19.
