Jennifer Hudson added to Majors & Minors

The new Hub reality competition for young performers already featured Idol alums, Adam Lambert and Jordin Sparks, but has now become even more Idoltastic with the addition of Jennifer Hudson, according to Idol Chatter.

“You know, I started when I was your age, ” Jennifer tells the aspiring singers, who range in age from 10 to 16, in a clip from the show, “and it’s just like I’m looking in a mirror.”

Pop star and producer, will.i.am has also been added to the lineup.

Vocal coach and in-house mentor, Debra Byrd (she’s Idol’s vocal coach too) says Adam works with the contestants on performing, “The kids are going through a choreography rehearsal, and Adam talks about how you present yourself.”

“I asked her to speak with these young talents, to discuss how it was for her to be on a television show and go to school at the same time, ” Debra says of Jordin’s involvement. “Because it’s very, very hard.”

Regarding Jennifer, Debra says, “These kids wanted to sing for her, because they just loved her so much. She was able to bring to these kids who look up to her this great presence, this great energy and a wealth of information.”
