Meet JAX American Idol 2015 Season 14 Top 24 Contestant
JAX is a singer-songwriter from New Jersey whose goal is to be an inspiration and figure that girls can look up to. With the support of her father, a retired firefighter, and mother, a school teacher, JAX hopes to take the world by storm with her unique singing voice, creative song writing talent and style. From the young age of five, JAX was immersed in film and theater, and while she enjoyed it, she eventually decided to pursue music. At some point, JAX either joined or formed the rock/pop band known as Meadowland. Along with Meadowland, JAX found success, producing an EP, and even performing at Bamboozle and the Warped Tours. Currently, JAX lists Billy Joel, Florence and The Machine and The Beatles among others as her influences.

Despite her success with Meadowland, at some point, JAX underwent a change. During this period, JAX cut her hair, dyed it blond, got a face tattoo and went for a more punkish look compared to the old girl next door one. Now, JAX is currently going solo on American Idol this season! She already wowed the judges with her interpretation of a classic Beatles song, and it seems the sky is the limit for this young lady! Watch out for JAX this season people, we might have a star in the making on our hands!
Overall Thoughts: JAX is a star, and I have to say, out of the entire top 24, I rank her as number one on my list. Honestly, I think this girl just has it all: the look, the voice, the confidence, everything comes together and a star is born. When I started working on finding Hollywood bound contestants, JAX was one of the first names I found, so she has a very special place for me in my Idol heart. Now that we know her real name and I have seen her in action, I can say that I see a rising star. Ideally, I’d love a JAX versus Nick Fradiani finale, with JAX coming out on top, but who knows what will actually happen. I guess to sum up my thoughts, all I can say is: GO #JAXPACK!!!!!!
JAX performs “I Want to Hold Your Hand” at the New York City auditions
- Jar Of Hearts, by Christina Perri. One word: piano. If JAX does this song behind a piano and just lets her vocals be highlighted it will be a moment for the young singer.
- Lights, by Nellie Veitenheimer. There is no way she knows this song, but I think Lights would fit JAX like a glove.
- Bring Me To Life, by Evanescence. On Youtube, JAX showcases a lot of skill as a performer, and I just think this song would let her work the stage and also show off her vocals. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if she started by the piano. Did I mention I love JAX at the piano?
