Good news peeps! There will be new music sooner than you think.

Jason is set to release The Love Uncompromised EP on January 12, via all digital retailers, including www.jasoncastromusic.com.

Physical CDs will be available at venues on Jason’s upcoming tour, which begins on January 20 in Jacksonville, FL.

The Love Uncompromised EP kicks off with an acoustic version of Jason’s jaunty single, “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again, ” and title track, “Love Uncompromised” (check out the full track list after the jump).

The EP comes as a sneak peek of what fans can expect from the full-length album.   Fans who have already pre-ordered the album will be receiving the EP free of charge.

Jason’s first full fledged tour is set to kick off at the end of January and will continue through February (schedule after the jump).

Opening for labelmate Matt Hires on the tour,   Jason will be visiting local high schools to meet with young fans and treat them to a free performance at several stops.

Yay for some new Jason Castro in a few short weeks!

  1. Hmm…I thought his full album was coming out in January. They pushed it back again?

  2. As I already pre-ordered, works for me. Excited for the Serena Ryder duet and the If I Were You song.

  3. Same here–I’m excited to get the acoustic Let’s Just Fall in Love Again, too. It should be interesting to compare the two.

  4. Does anyone know why it is taking Jason so long to release his debut album?

  5. That is wonderful news and finally he will be in my area, well only 3 hours away! Rereader – I wish you were closer to me, we could go together. So, who is going to meet me in Phoenix or Tucson? I like Tucson better, cute little college town. Sooooo????

  6. I’m glad they’re finally getting something more out. Wonder if they’ll also try another single when the EP comes out, since Let’s Just Fall in Love Again seems to be done.

They’re probably waiting to put out the whole album until they’ve drummed up more interest in Jason, which, hopefully another single and touring/doing radio promo will help with.

  7. great…it has most of the songs that I love…I better pre-order the album so I don’t end up paying twice

  8. Already have my tickets for his concerts in Ohio. :) I don’t like every one of his songs, but his acoustic Sweet Medicine is just so lovely; I’m glad it’s on the EP. :)

  9. Yay!! I’m so freakin’ excited about the Serena Ryder song. Very happy that we can get the EP prior to the spring CD release. Very happy. Very.

  10. A little birdie whispered in my ear, Jan 2, 2010 will be happy & exciting day for Jason. :)

  11. I’ve never been much of a Jason fan until I heard the extended snippets on HitPredictor.com. I’m really interested. The funny thing is, from what I heard, I really think this was the type of album Kris should have put together.

    I’m watching you Jason. ;)

  12. Wow. Atlantic really has a weird roll out plan. I guess I can see it, if they think Jason doesn’t have a big enough fan base yet, but seems to me, the further away from S7 they get, the fewer fans are going to hang around to buy the record. That’s the main reason the Winner has to get a cd out in the first 6 months, right? It doesn’t matter to me, really, since I have the album pre-ordered already, but I know a couple of peeps who would have liked this cd for Christmas. Oh, well. I’ll just be glad I got his music sooner , rather than later, and let Jason worry about those other folks remembering him.

    Don’t tell me that’s his wedding date….?

  14. I see there’s another sunshinegirl on here!

I think Jason is NOT easily forgetable and I hope the EP WILL come out in Jan. It does seem strange that there has been so many changes, but I will be happy whenever his album comes out. I’m not telling people a firm date anymore.

At least we’ve had some great music from him recently and Jason’s mall and radio tour was a big success for getting his music out there! I’ve heard nothing but positive reviews!

And if Jan 2nd is the big day, I hope he’ll be happy and have a very blessed life!

  15. Very excited about the music. I’m a longtime fan and have been patiently waiting for a CD. Jason is a very talented artist and I hope to see him on tour. I do wish, however, that there were one place where fans were not insisting on bringing up his personal life. That has no bearing on his music and seems self-serving. If he wanted to discuss it he would, and as of now, he hasn’t. This is what gives AI fans a bad name. I hope he can distance himself from the show.

  16. I certainly wish him all the best too – I’m sorry that my post came out snippy – not my intent.

I am really interested in the Serena Ryder duet:)

  17. I do wish, however, that there were one place where fans were not insisting on bringing up his personal life. That has no bearing on his music and seems self-serving.

Hasn’t Jason indicated that his fiance, Mandy, has been the inspiration for many of his songs? For instance, the song Sweet Medicine comes to mind. I seem to recall learning such from Jason in some of his interviews — where he has OPENLY indicated that he is very much in love. Plus he apparently got engaged in a very public way – MJ had a photo posted.

Why release an EP if the album will actually be released soon thereafter (will it or won’t it, who knows)? Why would people want to buy multiple copies of the same songs? How common are EPs anyway? Just wonderin’.

  18. With that, I rest my case.

His personal life is none of my business.

  19. He’s getting the Josiah Leming treatment and that doesn’t bode well.

  20. Does anyone know if there is ticket info. on his website?

The funny thing is, from what I heard, I really think this was the type of album Kris should have put together.

They’re actually quite different. I’m fans of both of these guys. I think “Let’s Fall in Love…” fits Jason, wouldn’t fit Kris. Kris has quite a few potential hits on his album.

  21. Wow! Does that mean the album won’t be out in January? Push back again? Why? I’m confused!?!

Anyway, I’m excited for the EP! I love that duet with Serena Ryder. It’s a beautiful song. I’m also excited for the acoustic version of “Let’s Just Fall In Love Again”! I’ll wait for the cd whenever it comes out.

  22. Wow! Does that mean the album won’t be out in January? Push back again? Why? I’m confused!?!

Hmm. This seems to be Atlantic’s MO. From what I understand, they did the exact same thing with Ryan Star (also signed to Atlantic), who opened for David Cook on a large portion of his endless tour. Ryan’s album release has been pushed-back by the label a number of times, and finally had a digital EP released instead. They’ve released two of his songs to radio I believe, without any real traction (though Ryan has had a lot of success licensing his songs to TV and movies). I don’t follow Ryan all that closely, but I know some of his long-time fans are not confident that Atlantic will ever actually release his album. That would be a major disappointment for Ryan and his fans, and I hope it doesn’t end up being Jason’s fate either.

(And yes, it is also reminiscent of Josiah Lemming, though I believe he was on Warner).

  23. It’s becoming pretty common for artists to release an EP in between albums, either a few months before the album, as a teaser, or a few months afterwards, to help keep sales going longer. Off the top of my head, I remember 3rd Eye Blind put out an EP ~6 months before their album came out in August, Coldplay put out an EP of mostly new material a few months after Viva La Vida came out, and Lady Gaga just put out her The Fame Monster EP/deluxe album. Seems like in the past yearI’ve also seen a lot of EPs that are mostly remixes with 1 or 2 new songs, but I can’t think of anyone specific, other than Jason Mraz’s all I’m Yours remix EP. Like we needed to here I’m Yours more?! ;) I can understand artists and labels trying to make some $$ without the promotional commitments of a full album, since they’re struggling to make any $$ at all.

  24. Oh, I’m sure the album will be forthcoming. Atlantic put out an EP of Serena Ryder’s songs while she was touring, and then the full CD. As CathyMK said, it seems to be common nowadays.

  25. Some cool sounding clubs on that list of tour sites. Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Ga. (very, very near Atlanta) is a great place for a show.

I did think about Ryan Star’s situation as well, Lady M. I hope that this all turns out better for Jason than it has for Ryan, thus far.

  26. I don’t follow Ryan all that closely, but I know some of his long-time fans are not confident that Atlantic will ever actually release his album. That would be a major disappointment for Ryan and his fans, and I hope it doesn’t end up being Jason’s fate either.

That’s sad! I really hope it doesn’t happen to Jason. Well, Atlantic knows what they’re doing. They do what they think is the best for their artists. I just hope they don’t drop him.

  27. Oh I hope it doesn’t either (Jason’s amongst my all-time favorite Idols), and I’m certainly not prognosticating anything. All I know is that it’s an eerily similar pattern to what has happened with Ryan Star, another promising reality show finalist signed by Atlantic. I’m hopeful that Ryan’s album gets released soon too, but I have heard from fans who followed him long before Cook’s tour that they’re doubtful at this point. It’s puzzling.

I wouldn’t worry yet. Jason’s got this tour ahead of him and I’m sure that will be a good testing ground. I’m looking forward to catching him when he comes to ATX.

  28. I will certainly DL this EP. At least that doesn’t mean we have to wait longer for any new recorded music. Its something at least until the album comes out. I am loving J’s new material. I am as excited for his album as I was for Adams. Maybe Atlantic just decided that the January music buying grave was not the best time to release a jaunty upbeat album from a new artist. Plus, he will still have some music out so that he can possibly be invited back to Idol to perform.

I didn’t say that same songs.. just the same vibe. Kris’s songs for me are missing the mark.

Nope, I didn’t say same songs either, just used an example. No biggie, different strokes…(also different vibes). ;)

plus he’s been on the road for about 4 months solid already doing everything he can to promote his music. He’s not making a lot of money but I give Jason points for working his tail off.
