‘Idol’ castoff Pia Toscano boots beau for ‘Dancing’ dreamboat

“American Idol” castoff Pia Toscano, 22, is saying ciao to her longtime boyfriend, Queens caterer Carlos Nunez, while swooning over “Dancing With the Stars” salsa shaker Mark Ballas, a friend told The Post.

“It seems inevitable to anyone with eyes, ” the couple’s mutual pal said.

The Howard Beach heartbreaker hasn’t officially booted her beau of four years, but she’s tapered off her talks with the 28-year-old from Ozone Park while she lives la vida loca in Hollywood.

“They hadn’t spoken as often as you’d think once she made the final 12, ” the source told The Post. “She kind of played a disappearing act.”

JENNIFER LOPEZ PAY GAP FURY

Jennifer Lopez, 41, is said to be “spitting mad” that Aerosmith frontman Tyler is on £11million per season – £4million more than she is paid.

And she is also furious that flamboyant Tyler, 63, has a bigger wardrobe budget than her.

Now, both stars are logging each other’s time on camera and counting the lines they deliver on air.

A member of production staff said: “Jennifer started this in an effort to prove she’s on air more than Steven and thus deserves at least the same money.

“Steven retaliated by having one of his assistants log her air time.”

Simon Cowell meets the U.S. expense factor

He’s known as Mr Nasty, but Simon Cowell is more of a Mr Nice Guy to his American X Factor team.

The music mogul has been wildly generous with members of his Fox production crew, spending thousands of pounds from his own pocket to put them up in top hotels during filming for auditions in cities such as Miami and Dallas.

This weekend his people are in executive suites at the Hilton hotel in Newark, New Jersey.

It’s Official: Simon Won’t Be X Factor Judge

Simon Cowell will not appear as a weekly judge on The X Factor when it returns to ITV later this year.

ITV Director of Television Peter Fincham confirmed that Cowell would have a reduced role so he could concentrate on The X Factor USA. “We have been in constant negotiations with Simon about ways in which we can move things forward and help The X Factor evolve. We have been aware that his on-screen involvement in this series will not be as great as previous years for months now, ” he admitted, adding: “It is something that we are completely comfortable with.”

Is Simon Cowell essential to The X Factor?

To borrow Cowell’s own expansive interpretation of maths: 1, 000, 000% yes. He is essential to The X Factor.

That is not to say that when, as has been suggested, Cowell steps down from his on-screen role on the show, ending a seven-year run as judge and mentor to focus his attention on American TV, The X Factor will end. More than 20 million tuned in at its peak last year; ITV will not cull this revenue source in a hurry.

But without Cowell The X Factor will be diminished. Keen smiles (We’re OK!). Host Dermot O’Leary doing twice as many clicks and heel-spins (It’s still fun!). Singers trying to look grave as they listen to verdicts from Cowell’s replacement (This is legitimate criticism!). The show will live on, but unhappily.
