Idol Sales News – Week Ending 05/10/15

Mumford & Sons easily score their second number one album, though their TEAs/SEAs seem lower than predicted. They need another mainstream hit. Josh is second on both charts for his second week with strong Mother’s Day sales. Now 54 actually holds onto the third spot on the two charts (features Tori Kelly, Kelly Clarkson and One Direction). Tech N9ne and the Zac Brown Band switch 4th/5th on the two charts. Fifty Shades holds 6th on both with Furious 7 drafting behind on the SPS at the 7th. Sam Smith is without his chart buddy Ed as he goes 10th and 8th. Taylor actually moves down the chart from 7th to 9th once TEAs and SEAs are considered (Scott, stop messing around with Idols and get her another hit). My Morning Jacket and Chris Stapleton debut in the top 10 for sales, but fall out of the top 10 on the combined making room for Meghan Trainor to move up to 10th.

The only reality singer on the sales chart is Miranda Lambert at 48, but she does not stick around for the combined chart. Fifth Harmony does move onto the SPS. Now 53 features One Direction and it is 27th on sales and off the combined chart.
