Idol Sales News – Week Ending 08/4/13

Robin Thicke gets his first number 1 album, with Blurred Lines. According to Nielsen Soundscan, 177,000 copies were sold.

X Factor alums, Emblem3 lands in the top 10 this week, as the group’s first album, Nothing to Lose enters the Billboard 200 at No. 7 with 46,000. Oops. He outsold the winner, Tate Stevens. His self-titled debut opened at 16,859 back in May. Emblem3 finished season 2 in 4th place, behind Fifth Harmony, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate.

Over on the Digital Songs chart, One Direction’s “Best Song Ever,” falls from 1-12 on the chart with 91,000, down 72%. “Blurred Lines” the single, regains the top spot. Read more at Billboard.com

Also, congrats to Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. Their 2011 country duet, “Remind Me” earned double platinum certification from the RIAA. Congrats. (via All Access)
