Phillip Phillips Picks “Idol”s Perfect Steven Tyler Replacement – When Phillips spoke about Tyler’s departure from the Idol panel with MIX 105.1 recently, it was apparent that Phillips was a fan of the Aerosmith frontman as well. “There’s nobody like Steven on this earth, I’ve kind of realized that. There’s not another human being,” he said. But when it came time to share his idea for the perfect replacement for Tyler, it wasn’t an easy task. Phillips eventually settled on an artist that he had successfully covered on Idol with his rocking rendition of “Superstition.” “Stevie Wonder, that would be a good one,” Phillips confided. ”He wouldn’t be able to see you and it wouldn’t be about looks or anything. It would just be about the notes you sing, so that’d be a good one.” – Read more at CBS

Boots & Hearts: How a festival rookie brought Nashville to GTA – Just how a rookie managed to secure commitments from so many big stars in a company town as notoriously suspicious as Nashville, is not, as the festival’s PR pitch would have us believe, a “build it and they will come” story. But it’s almost as weird. It turns out Mike Fisher, Underwood’s Canadian NHL-player husband, is a Peterborough native, too, and a schoolboy hockey buddy of McNevan’s and his brother Trevor, who, in turn, has solid Nashville, rock and country festival connections via his Christian heavy-metal band, Thousand Foot Krutch. “Mike’s an old family friend,” says McNevan. “And once he and Carrie got behind the festival, other artists, their friends, started falling in as well. Carrie is really big in Nashville. She was the key to getting us off the ground.” – Read more at The Star
