Keith Urban: I’m Pulling for the Nashville Contestants During American Idol Auditions – “There’s definitely a sense of pride for me in Nashville,” he told PEOPLE Country as nervous contestants were shepherded into the cavernous Music City Center. “I want everyone here to walk in and kill these guys. I want Nashville to bring it.” “Being in a music center like Nashville sets the bar high,” Lopez said, pointing toward the Country Music Hall of Fame across the street. “The people on the building there – Dolly, Elvis, Taylor, Miranda Lambert – they’re huge stars.” – Read more at People

McCreery puts Southern heart into music – “When you’re out on tour, it’s really easy to miss home,” says Mc- Creery, who will perform Friday night at the Sioux Empire Fair. But it’s not just the landscape he misses. It’s the people, too, which is the premise for the title track, “See You Tonight,” one of five songs he co-wrote for his second studio album with lyrics that proclaim he “would drive a million miles just to see that little smile in real life.” “It’s my baby. It’s the first song I ever put out that I wrote, and it’s a personal song. When you’re out on the road a lot, you miss the people in your life,” he says. “So many folks can relate to that, to not being able to wait to see them.” – Read more at Argus Leader

‘American Idol’ winner Scotty McCreery dreams of the Grand Ole Opry – “I didn’t get what I had until I was 15,” said McCreery recently while calling from Hyannis, Mass. “It was a weird thing. I went like that from a tenor to a bass. It was surreal. My voice changed, and it changed for the better.” Armed with his deep baritone and charm, McCreery won the 10th season of “American Idol” in 2011. “It seems like such a long time ago,” McCreery said. “It was incredible. It opened some doors for me, and I’ve been all about taking advantage of whatever opportunities I’ve received.” – Read more at Kansas.com

Pickler concert Friday to raise funds for Tier veterans – “When I got in line for ‘American Idol’ in 2005, I was 19 and green,” Pickler said in a recent phone interview. “I had no idea that would lead me to be able to do these [USO] tours like this. It’s pretty crazy.” Since launching a solo career following her sixth-place finish on “Idol,” Pickler has used her celebrity status as an example for those facing challenges and adversity. “I think it’s so important that we never settle,” she said. “When I say that, I mean never settle for less than the desires of your heart. I kind of grew up where there was a lot of settling and not a lot of dream-chasers. For me, all I had was my dreams, so I guess it was easier for me to not get distracted and it was easier for me to hold on to my dreams because that’s all I had.” – Read more at Press Connects

Ryan Seacrest on Why He’s Designing Suits: ‘Guys Don’t Ever Ask for Fashion Advice’ – When you picture Ryan Seacrest, you inevitably also picture a slim-fitting, well-tailored suit with a skinny tie (seriously, we can’t even imagine him in business casual or low-key activewear). So it’s no surprise that Macy’s tapped him for a line of men’s tailored clothing and accessories called Ryan Seacrest Distinction. But Seacrest, 39, confesses to PEOPLE that there was a time when his clothes were distinctive … for all the wrong reasons. “I looked back at some pictures recently of me at the Teen Choice Awards when I was in a coral shirt back in ’04,” Seacrest told PEOPLE at the Beverly Hills, California launch of the line (where he shared a few behind-the-scenes snaps — how cute is his new puppy Georgia, above?). “Then there was a bedazzled collar at another red carpet. When you go back and look at old red carpets, I’ve made plenty of fashion mistakes!” – Read more at People.com
