Little Big Town Hopes ‘American Idol’ Will Go Country – While Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are so far both only rumored to be in the running for a spot at the judge’s table during the new season of “American Idol,” the members of Little Big Town think the show’s producers are certainly looking in the right direction. “Either one would be great,” Karen Fairchild says of Keith and Brad, pointing out that the show usually has a night every year where contestants are required to sing a country song. “Both would show off the format, and I can’t wait for that. Both of those guys are so well-spoken and they are just consummate professionals and artists, writers, singers and players. I don’t know how they would decide — we love both of them so much.” – Read more at The Boot

Taylor Hicks On Performing at RNC, Taking Risks – “American Idol” winner Taylor Hicks, who took the stage Thursday night at the Republican National Convention, said in an effort to remain politically neutral that he would like to perform at the Democratic National Convention next week, too. “You run the risk of performing and entertaining in a political area, but as an entertainer you have to take risks,” Taylor told me on a call from Tampa. “Hopefully, big risks give big rewards. I don’t really talk about my party or political affiliations. I’m an entertainer; that’s what I was invited to do. Seeing everyone being excited about American political process is great. I would go to the Democratic National Convention too, if I was invited.” – Read more at The Huffington Post

Taylor Hicks: Not Easy Opening for Clint Eastwood & Mitt Romney – Thursday night’s performance at the Republican National Convention in Tampa was a first – and a tricky one – for American Idol singer Taylor Hicks. He was opening for some very tough acts to follow: surprise guest speaker Clint Eastwood and presidential nominee Mitt Romney. “I’ve worked many stages in my life, but never, ever have I had to weave in and out of a lectern,” Hicks, 35, told PEOPLE while laughing and downing a draft beer at the bustling CNN Grill after the convention adjourned. “And the Teleprompter was definitely a stage hazard – having to dance with that thing.” – Read more at

We have a new lineup of songs so it was really good to be able to test that out and see how everything would flow. I had never actually been able to play a show in London or Australia, although I had been to both places, so it was really great to go there and see people become excited. I was worried that no one would show up so it was great to have the audience excited for it. (Laughs)

‘Glee’s’ Naya Rivera on Brittany and Santana’s ‘New Challenge,’ Same-Sex PDA – “At the start of the season, they’re definitely still together — she’s at the high school dealing with all the new people and Santana is at Louisville dealing with her new schedule there,” Rivera tells The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a completely new thing for her and she’s really focusing on cheerleading and trying not to think about the fact that she does miss everyone.” “It’s definitely a struggle, as is any long distance relationship and they will be dealing with that new challenge,” Rivera says. “I know she misses her and she definitely makes time to visit Brittany. I do hope that they’re in it for the long-run, but as with any long-distance relationship, it has its challenges — especially when you’re still in high school.” – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter
