Kree Harrison, “American Idol” runner-up, delivers more than just music AMERICA’S INSPIRATIONAL IDOL – Candice Glover may be the most recent “American Idol” winner, but it’s runner-up Kree Harrison who feels like a champion. “I didn’t expect to go as far as I did,” said Harrison, calling from Connecticut. “Obviously, making it to the finale was way more than I could have ever imagined. So I loved how it ended. And also, I feel like in a way, we all won. It’s not necessarily the title of ‘American Idol’ but I feel like a lot of us won with the exposure that created a following. Van Pelt joins the search for ‘Scorpion Idol’ – The tables have turned for Erika Van Pelt. A top 10 finisher on “American Idol” in 2012, the Rhode Island singer is getting a chance at the other end of the mike – hosting and helping to judge the weekly “Scorpion Idol” karaoke contest in the Scorpion Bar at Foxwoods Resort Casino. The three-month contest, held on Wednesday nights, started July 31, with contestants signing up each night to compete in hopes of being selected for the finals, which will take place Oct. 23. – Read more at The Day.com

Fantasia puts the drama behind her, plans Saturday performance in Montgomery – Fantasia is feeling the love — and says she hasn’t felt this good since winning “American Idol” in 2004. The singer’s fourth album, “Side Effects of You,” debuted at No. 1 and No. 2 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop and Top 200 albums charts last week.
