Fame, failure and rebirth: Jordin Sparks finds all in “Sparkle” – The singer released two albums after winning “Idol” and was nominated for a Grammy for her collaboration with Chris Brown on the 2009 pop song “No Air”. A year later she tried her hand on Broadway like many past “Idol” alums, in the Tony Award-winning show “In the Heights”. It all seemed to be going well, until things fell apart. “My label was going through a transition and people were let go. Then I parted ways with my management and then I had some things personally going on,” Sparks said, but did not elaborate. “It just felt like everything was starting to not work out all at once. ‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Mia Michaels previews tonight’s tribute episode to her – After a two week hiatus, tonight’s Top 14 episode of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance returns and tributes a very special lady: the show’s most prolific choreographer, Mia Michaels. The three-time Emmy winner will be feted for the entire two hours, as the seven pairs of dancers remaining will each perform one of her classic dances from previous seasons — everything from her famous “Bench” dance to “The Butt Piece.” “They contacted me, and they were like, ‘We have an idea. We want this to happen,’” Michaels tells EW about how the episode came together. “It was quite an honor, and I was like, ‘Let’s do this.’ It’s definitely turning out to be one of my most favorite seasons, especially now because I’ve had a personal attachment to the dancers now that are doing this work. It’s really cool.” – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

‘The Glee Project’ Winner Blake Jenner: ‘I’d Love to Be a Finn-Type Character’ – Do you think the way Glee’s third season ended — with Finn (Cory Monteith) graduating and heading to boot camp — helped you win? I know that the whole cast is coming back and he’s not gone forever, but since he graduated I feel like the choir room needs that go-to guy, that guy everybody needs help, advice, leadership from. That’s who I was for my friends in high school and I’d really love to be that guy [on Glee]. I wouldn’t want to be a carbon copy of Finn and have differences from him and my own issues, and maybe include the poetry. I’d love that, because that’s me: seeing this one guy on the outside and how different he is and how complex he is on the inside. I’d love to be a Finn-type character for the choir room. – Hollywood Reporter

‘Glee Project’ winner interview: ‘There was so much excitement, I almost levitated’ – After a last-chance performance of “I’ll Be” — not to mention a surprise poem reading — a jubilant Jenner walked away with the seven-episode arc on the fourth season of the show. Jenner got on the phone with EW this morning to talk about his lack of sleep, why he read a poem, and what he hopes his Glee character gets to do next season (Watch out, Brittany/Santana shippers!) – Read more at Entertainment Weekly

‘Glee’: Kate Hudson as Rachel’s sexy new dance teacher — EXCLUSIVE PHOTO – In this scene, her first big number on the Fox hit, Cassandra shows Rachel (Lea Michele, not seen) how it’s done at NYADA. But don’t expect the pair to be bonding too much during office hours — Hudson, known for her sunnier roles, is playing kind of a witch. “She’s hard-ass,” says Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk. “And she has her own demons. She works by negative.” Hudson has signed on for six-episodes in season 4 while fellow actress Sarah Jessica Parker will make her debut in the third episode of Glee‘s fourth season. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly
