Caleb Johnson hopes for CD release party in Asheville – Caleb Johnson’s first trip home to Asheville since winning “American Idol” could be for a concert to celebrate the release of his CD, now titled “Testify,” due out Aug. 12. “I don’t know if this is going to actually happen,” he said Monday in an exclusive interview. “I hope it does. But there’s talk that I might actually do an album release show in Asheville. That would be sometime in late August, early September.” The venue would be named later, he said, after his record label, Interscope, decides which of the CD’s nine new tracks will be the first single.”They’re doing that right now,” he said. “The head of the label (John Janick) will pick one personally and release it.
