ONTARIO: ‘Idol’ stars learn the ropes on the road – “American Idol Live” played to packed house of 9,000 on Wednesday in Citizens Business Bank Arena, despite the fact that Season 11 had no local contestants. ‘Idol’ finalists take to Branson – Ruben Studdard and Bo Bice dazzled fans of “American Idol” during their appearances on the TV show. Now fans have a chance to see them and three other top 10 finalists of the program at the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre in Branson.
Bice said he enjoys the variety of music displayed during the last round of the “The Finalists Live!” show, which started Monday and runs through Aug. 18. “It’s been great seeing the crowd response,” Bice said. “It’s incredible having such different styles of music on display.” – News-leader

Glee’s Cory takes on action movie – Cory Monteith is set to star on the big screen in new action drama McCanick. The Glee star will play a young criminal released from prison, showing Canadian actor Cory in a very different light to well-meaning hero Finn in the hit musical show that has made him famous, Variety reports.
