David Cook to sing Anthem for Kansas City Royals July 4th! – David is set to take the field at Kauffman Stadium on Thursday, July 4th, where he’ll have the honor of performing the National Anthem for his hometown team, the Kansas City Royals, before their game with the Cleveland Indians. Van Pelt to belt it out before fireworks in Danvers – DANVERS — If the weather holds, there will be fireworks in the sky and on the stage tomorrow night. American Idol” top 10 contestant Erika Van Pelt and her band are scheduled to headline the stage show from 8 to 9 p.m., before the rockets light up the night sky at the Danvers Family Festival’s fireworks. Paula Deen’s Lawyers Cite Hollingsworth V. Perry In Bid To Dismiss Race Lawsuit – The Supreme Court’s ruling in Hollingsworth v. Perry, which effectively legalized gay marriage in California, could have a very surprising beneficiary: Paula Deen. On Monday, the celebrity chef’s lawyers cited Chief Justice John Roberts’ decision on the case in a filing submitted to the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Georgia. Deen’s lawyers have argued for months that a lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, a manager at one of Deen’s restaurants, should be dismissed because the plaintiff lacks the standing to bring it to court. – Read more at Huffington Post

Randy Jackson Lines Up First Post-‘American Idol’ Gig – Randy Jackson has lined up his first gig since leaving American Idol. The former TV judge is teaming up with Motown icon Smokey Robinson for a duets album due out in the fall. Jackson will produce the collection, which will be released by Verve Records. The track list is expected to include songs written by Robinson for his solo career, his former group The Miracles, and for other artists, including Marvin Gaye and The Temptations.
