New York State Fair adds former ‘The Voice’ contestants, country music singer John Anderson to Midway Music Stage lineup – More reality show stars and a legendary country music singer will perform this year at the New York State Fair’s Midway Music Stage. Three former “The Voice” contestants will perform and share stories at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 — the fair’s opening night. Terry McDermott, the show’s season three runner-up, and Caroline Pennell and Shawn “Big Sexy” Smith from season five are scheduled to perform before the trio holds a meet-and-greet with attendees. You could be the next ‘American Idol’ if you show up at MB auditions – The “American Idol” audition bus will make one of its 11 stops on a nationwide tour Thursday on the former Myrtle Beach Pavilion lot on Ocean Boulevard between Eighth and Ninth avenues North in Myrtle Beach. “You’re going to wait in line for a long time,” said Elise Testone, a former Coastal Carolina University student who finished sixth during the show’s 11th season. “You’re going to have to show up two hours earlier than when you need to be there. – Read more at The State

Simon Cowell’s Lucky Streak Rolls On – In contrast, he considers his U.S. version of “The X Factor” singing contest a victim of overcrowding, canceled by Fox after three seasons. Cowell said if he had it to do over again he would have insisted Fox choose between it or network sibling “American Idol.”

Medical Examiner Releases Details About Death Of Clay Aiken Primary Opponent – Keith Crisco — who at the time of his shocking death was in a too-close-to call North Carolina Democratic congressional primary with former American Idol contestant Clay Aiken — died due to heart disease, according to the medical examiner’s report obtained by The Daily Caller. Crisco, 71, died as he walked inside his home in Asheboro on May 12, according to the report.
