After the American Idol show in Kansas City last night, Erika Van Pelt tweeted, “Thanks to @thedavidcook and his family for the post-show BBQ in Kansas City! Soooo yummy.” David Cook is in Manila right now for a series of shows, but his family was on hand to have barbecue with the kids.

Speaking of which, David Cook will perform tonight at the Areneta Coliseum in Manila.

One day after San Jose’s DeAndre Brackensick performed in the frenetic season finale of TV’s most popular talent show, he rushed back to the Bay Area to attend his graduation at Oak Grove High School — only to arrive about halfway through the ceremony. “American Idol Live!” tour helps reinforce an aging TV brand – “I haven’t really felt too overwhelmed yet,” said Skylar Laine, a season 11 finalist and one of the “American Idol Live!” performers. “I’m usually just really grateful and humbled by it. The fans are intense, but they’re really nice.” It’s easy to say that now, since the tour just kicked off in Detroit on July 6, with the 1stBank Center marking its sixth stop.
