‘American Idol’ finalists to perform with Anchorage Symphony – Two finalists in the “American Idol” talent competition will perform with the Anchorage Symphony Orchestra at the orchestra’s 46th annual Champagne Pops concert, on Sept. 7 in Atwood Concert Hall. LaKisha Jones finished fourth on the show in 2007 and Matt Giraud came in fifth the following year. Both are from Michigan, Jones from Flint and Giraud from Kalamazoo. Colton Dixon expands his message in post-‘Idol’ career – Dixon already had a music career pre-Idol but his career grew quickly after being sent home. “As soon as you come off the show, especially that first week when you’re eliminated, you’re fresh on everybody’s mind,” Dixon says. “I remember being in New York City just a couple days after I was eliminated and was shocked by how many people knew who I was. Phillip Phillips: I Would ‘Love To Collaborate With Taylor Swift’ – When asked how it was meeting Taylor he responded, “She was really nice, told me she was a big fan and it was really cool.” The blonde beauty didn’t give too much advice for the artist, whose rapid rose to stardom happened last year. However, he did say he would be totally open to collaborate with Taylor. “I’m really up for anything. I’m one of those people who loves music and I’m always down to get together with different artists.
