‘American Idol’ Contestant Didi Benami on Her Tattoo, Writing New Songs and Brooke White
What are you going to be performing?
One of the songs I’m going to be doing is ‘Terrified.’ I don’t know if I’m allowed to say the second one yet. I can only say one! I will be doing ‘Terrified.’
Would you do a duet on tour?
It’s difficult, because, technically, we can only go on in the order we were eliminated and the other people can’t come out … I would have wanted to, but technically, unless I come into somebody else’s set, I can’t sing with anybody. I wanted people to come sing with me, but then I’d have to wait to do my set, and then it’d be a mess … I really, really wanted to get that together. I wanted Crystal [Bowersox] to come on and play guitar with me … But that’s OK. It’ll still be a good show.

When will you shoot the video for The Truth?
I think the video’s going to be filmed July 15, probably in L.A. I think we have the director: Marco Puig, the same guy that directed the first video is going to do the second, so we’re pretty excited about that.
How many songs have you written since you finished the last album?
I’m not very good at finishing songs — I have a lot of ideas. Probably in the realm of 50 ideas. Finished songs? Probably around 15. Or so. Maybe.

Underwood gives Rupp an extreme show
For the better part of two hours, the one-time American Idol champion offered music that was country by categorization only. This was a full blown rock and pop production for which the flying pickup was but one grand trick. There was also a gargantuan stage that allowed Underwood to swing on a makeshift tree branch, a centerstage area with multiple lifts that allowed her to pop and down through the floor (she made her show entrance on a divan dressed in a pseudo-tux outfit singing Country Casanova) and rotating platforms that conveniently moved band members out of the way so that the star of the show could occasionally make an entrance from the back of the stage when she tired of emerging from beneath it.
Danny Gokey Ponders American Idol
Like other former American Idol contestants, Danny Gokey recently weighed in on the popular talent contest’s recent farewell to the popular judge Simon Cowell. “I think we can all come into agreement that we think, ‘Wow, what is the show going to be like?’” said Danny, who placed third in the eighth season of the show. “Simon didn’t make the show. It was the chemistry of the people on the show that made the show. But he was the front face of the show. To see him leave is sad, ” Danny said backstage
during a press conference at the Country Music Association Music Festival.

Morgan to replace Larry King?
LONDON — “America’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan has been earmarked as a candidate to take over Larry King’s CNN show in a bid to revamp the network’s image, according to press reports on both sides of the Atlantic.
The reported four-year deal will see the former Blighty newspaper editor jump from the NBC show into King’s hot seat for a figure of $8 million, according to Brit newspaper The Telegraph. Further U.K. reports found the figure to be closer to $14 million.
The New York Post also ran the story, but without reference to the size of the potential financial deal.
Bret Michaels, American Idol Apprentice?
With auditions for Season 10 of American Idol set for Nashville, New Orleans, Jersey City and San Francisco this summer, speculation is heating up about a replacement for Simon Cowell, who left the show after the May 26 finale. “There’s no replacement for Simon, ” former judge Paula Abdul told TV Guide Magazine at the Tony Awards. Abdul, who’s now busy on her new upcoming CBS show Got to Dance, pointed out, “They broke the mold [with him]. We all know that!”
Former Idol contestant Constantine Maroulis, starring in Rock of Ages on Broadway, told TV Guide Magazine, “I like the Bret Michaels idea. It’s totally against the grain.”
Paula Abdul: Bret Michaels Would Be an “Awesome” American Idol Judge
Ex-American Idol judge Paula Abdul has given Bret Michaels her blessing as Simon Cowell’s successor.
“If he were to take that position I think he would be awesome at it because you’ve got to have a passion and love for music, ” Abdul, 47, told UsMagazine.com at the Tony Awards Gift Lounge in NYC Sunday.
But Michaels isn’t the only person Abdul envisions sitting with Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres at the judge’s table.
“I think Simon’s mom Julie would be brilliant, because who knows him better than she?” Abdul told Us.
“Honestly, the word replacement to me does not apply because, as we all know, they broke the mold after Simon. I don’t think he could ever be replaced, ” she said. “There should be no comparison.”
Paula Abdul: Simon Cowell Will Be a Loving Husband
Now that Simon Cowell is engaged to girlfriend Mezghan Hussainy, Paula Abdul says the American Idol judge might show a softer side once he’s married.
“That’s left to be determined!” Abdul told PEOPLE backstage at the LG Electronics gift lounge at the Tony Awards. “I know Simon so well and honest to God, I think he’s at that stage in his life where he’s a grown-up Simon now, making him a great and loving husband. But he still has that little bad boy in him.”
