Harry Connick Jr. on becoming an ‘American Idol’ judge: ‘I had a good time mentoring, judging is a whole different deal’ – Harry talks to former “Idol” judge Ellen DeGeneres on her show Wednesday (May 8) about the possibility of him judging the singing competition show. “I’ve [mentored] twice and I had so much fun but they haven’t said, ‘Do you want to be a judge?'” says Connick Jr. “Like the security people and a couple of the interns say, ‘Oh, you would be a good judge’ and I’m like, ‘Oh well, thank you.'” “But I haven’t had an actual talk and then I see online, like I’m in talks … Even my wife is like, ‘Wait, you’re in talks with them?’ I said, ‘No. I’m not.’ I haven’t talked to anybody.” – Read more at TVByTheNumbers

Kelly Clarkson Defends Pink: ‘We’re All Human. Relax.’ – Kelly Clarkson is standing by her friend Pink after the latter was forced to cancel a show in England because of illness and was unable to reschedule it. Reacting to fans who complained about Pink scrapping the show in Birmingham, England, last month on doctor’s orders, Clarkson sent out a message of solidarity to her friend from WhoSay: “How dare you only work 364 days this year. I can’t believe you got sick. That never happens to anyone ….ever. You’re so lazy.” Clarkson, 31, added the super-long hashtag: “Name one person that has her schedule, sings while flying and is a mom.” The “American Idol” star continued, “Seriously people. Upfronts Pregame Analysis: Fallen Idol, Wounded Fox – Numbers don’t lie, but Fox’s second-place standing with adults under 50 among all networks doesn’t tell the whole story about what’s been a pretty bad season for the broadcaster. It’s not just that Fox has surrendered the demo ratings crown (to CBS) after an unprecedented eight-year run as Nielsen champ. It was bound to slip out of first eventually, and in any case, the weekly ratings race is something of a beauty contest. ADAM LEVINE, JORDAN FELDSTEIN SIGN DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH NBC FOR SCRIPTED AND ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMMING – UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. — May 8, 2013 — “The Voice” coach Adam Levine and producing partner Jordan Feldstein have signed an exclusive one-year first-look development deal with NBC Entertainment.
