Glee’s Chris Colfer on His Writing Debut, Klaine’s Rocky Future and ‘Possibilities’ For Season 6 – TVLINE | Can you set it up for us? What’s it all about? Everyone knows I’m a very selfish writer, so the main storyline is about Kurt being down on his luck and looking for something to validate him as a performer. He ends up joining an assisted living home’s production of Peter Pan, and something happens to the woman playing Peter, so he has to fill in. The biggest compliment I got from the crew and the cast when the script came out was that it reminded them of a Glee episode from Season 1. And we got some amazing people to be in it. – Read more at TV Line
Chris Colfer on Writing for Glee: I Don’t Want to Let Anyone Down – It’s not only the costume that deviates from the traditional Peter Pan get-up. “When they’re doing Peter Pan, they do a modern twist to it. They sing ‘Lucky Star’ when he’s talking about Neverland,” says Colfer, who also picked out many of Kurt’s songs for the episode. “Even though everyone knows I’m a very selfish writer and I wrote a lot of things that I wanted to do, I really picked songs that fit the story line the best. He sings ‘Memory’ from Cats, and I think it’s very, very fitting because he’s in a retirement home and that song, it’s so beautiful and it’s all about a life that someone used to live.” – Read more at TVGuide
Chris Colfer on writing his first ‘Glee’ episode and his dream ending for Kurt in the series finale – Tell me about the actual episode you wrote. Why Peter Pan? When you watch the episode, it’ll make a little bit more sense. Kurt kind of acts as Peter Pan when he comes into the retirement home. He slides in and teaches everyone to be young again, very much like Peter did to the Darlings, and then there’s a whole element in the other storyline where Rachel starts an animal charity for dogs called Broadway Bitches, and it’s all about helping those who have a hard time helping themselves, and really celebrates the literal underdog. It’s all a big theme. – Read more at Entertainment Weekly
Chris Colfer on Writing Tonight’s Glee Episode and Why His Cat Is Unhappy About It – Your episode doesn’t address the Kurt and Blaine relationship directly. Was that a choice on your part? It was definitely a conscious choice on my part. I wanted Kurt to have a story that was his own. That wasn’t about his relationship with Blaine, or supporting someone else like Rachel. I really wanted him to have his own moment. I have to say, in my episode, Kurt and Blaine are completely fine. They’re completely happy, so if something does happen to them down the road, it’s not my fault. The fans don’t have to send me the angry tweets. Kurt and Blaine are fine in my episode. – Read more at Vulture
