Miss Mississippi spurs Middleton’s ‘Idol’ success – Middleton is trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop and modern dance after graduating from New York’s famed La Guardia High School. He has worked with the same choreographer, Kevin Hunte of “So You Think You Can Dance” fame, since he was 6 years old. Hunte and his partner, Micah Houston at Magick Blyss Entertainment, work with Middleton through competition, even occasionally flying out to Los Angeles, where Seawright and her other son, Khalif, who is pursing an acting career, have temporarily relocated. Middleton learned the moves for his “I Wish” performance less than 24 hours before he hit the stage. Middleton’s flair for the dramatic as a dancer can have its potential downfalls, according to Seawright, relying on her Broadway experience. “Go back and look at some Michael Jackson concert videos,” Seawright said. “A lot of those vocals are recorded. We had more than that to record that were awesome, but then you have to start navigating which songs sound like which tempo, which message have we already heard…a lot of great songs get passed up. What’s most important for a record for you these days? It’s always been touring. I always want the record to be able to translate. I feel like if you like a record, it doesn’t always translate live. Or the artist doesn’t pull it off live. I always want my record to be better on stage. So you don’t approach your record like I’m going to have two singles and build around that. Winnefeld, USO Tour Stars Visit Troops in Afghanistan – Drawing cheers from the crowd, the show in Bagram today featured Luck throwing long passes through the hangar; singing performances by American Idol contestants Diana DeGarmo and her husband Ace Young; and actor Dennis Haysbert expressing gratitude for the service of the American military. It was nice to see the celebrities who came so far to support the troops, said Army Spc. Gage McGuyer of Texas, who’s been in Afghanistan for five months. “It was really cool.
