Anoop Desai: Zero the Mixtape

A cold rainy day in Atlanta, but a great one nonetheless. After spending some time on the Midday Show at Beehive FM, I sat down with DJ Trauma to discuss the project we will be undertaking entitled “Zero”. I’ve mentioned the mixtape before, but now it has a name and a direction. To those of you that may be unfamiliar with the idea of a mixtape, it’s an album-like compilation of about 15 songs of new and cover material that is usually used as the prelude to an album. A lot of songs on the radio right now started as tracks on a mixtape and gained traction from there. By teaming up with DJ Trauma, I’m ecstatic to say that I’ll be working with talented, well-known, and hungry Atlanta-based writers and producers who share my vision. Oh, did I mention that the initial release of the mixtape will be FREE and downloadable from a variety of websites early next year?

Artist Vs. Label: From Petty to Nelly, Ten Infamous Music Industry Spats

5. Kelly Clarkson vs. Clive Davis (2007)
American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson engaged in a painfully public war of words with then SonyBMG head Clive Davis about her third album “My December.” A darker, more introspective effort that she likened in vibe to Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska, Clarkson was a co-writer on every track, but Davis allegedly found the record too negative and insisted she consider recording new tracks by proven pop hit-makers – and even one holdover from a Lindsay Lohan album. The he said-she said banter in the press — and a subsequent snub by Davis on the show — was a low point in Idol-Sony relations as Clarkson told one publication flat out, “I am not a fan [of Davis]…I do respect him, but I don’t want to barbecue with him. We don’t braid each other’s hair. And, despite the rumors, he is nowhere near a father figure.”

EXCLUSIVE: JLo Exposed Herself In Public & It’s On Video – Court Papers Charge

Jennifer Lopez is caught on hours of new video “exposing her genital area in public” and displaying other “deviant behavior”, according to documents just filed in the singer’s high-stakes legal fight to keep the tapes secret.

The Jenny From The Block singer has taken ex-husband Ojai Noa and his agent Ed Meyer to court to stop their purported release and marketing attempt of sexy videos made during the couple’s short-lived marriage.

“JLo is riding a scooter in public in Cuba, while talking to the camera and numerous by-standers, with her privates in as plain view as Paris Hilton, Brittany Spears and Lindsay Lohan have in the past, ” said Ed Meyer, a rep for Lopez’s ex-hubby.

Margaret Cho: Sarah Palin Forced Bristol Into ‘Dancing’ — to Aid 2012 Run

“Why did Bristol do Dancing with the Stars? That the only reason Bristol was on the show was because Sarah Palin forced her to do it. Sarah supposedly blames Bristol harshly and openly (in the circles that I heard it from) for not winning the election, and so she told Bristol she ‘owed’ it to her to do ‘DWTS’ so that ‘America would fall in love with her again’ and make it possible for Sarah Palin to run in 2012 with America behind her all the way.”

Jennifer Grey To Undergo Surgery Soon

Having had almost a week to savor her victory on Season 11 of “Dancing with the Stars, ” Jennifer Grey is ready for her next move – a visit to the operating room.

At the launch of Disney’s “Epic Mickey” video game in New York City on Tuesday, Jennifer told Access Hollywood that she would shortly take care of an injury sustained during her triumphant march to mirrorball glory.

“I ruptured a disc, and I’m gonna go home today and I’m probably gonna have surgery this week or sometime next week, ” Jennifer said.

“It’s just gonna be like a little surgery where they take out the ruptured disc thing, and you know, it won’t be a big deal. Compared to the other surgeries I had on my neck, my doctor says it won’t be a big deal, ” Jennifer continued. “I’ll be home that night.”

Ageing Glee stars face the axe, says show creator Ryan Murphy

GLEE creator Ryan Murphy says he expects some of the stars of his hit music show to leave at the end of 2012.

“Every year we’re going to populate a new group, ” Murphy says. “There’s nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot.

“I think you have to be true to the fact that here is a group of people who come and go in these teachers’ lives – they graduate and they’re gone, ” Murphy says.

“When some of them finish their run at high school it will be very teary episodes.

“For me it will be particularly tough but a new crop (of actors) will come in.”
