Daughtry teases Break The Spell with Halloween gig at the Whisky in LA

When Chris Daughtry and his bandmates took the stage at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles on Halloween night, the private concert was the smallest venue they’ve played in years. It’s fitting, then, that the band known as Daughtry ended up delivering the kind of hungry performance you’d expect from a band still working through the ranks, the kind you’d expect from the kind of local-rising bands which more typically grace the Whisky stage. Kelly Clarkson Admits ‘Loser Guy’ Inspired New Album

“I have been through one [breakup] that was real crappy,” Clarkson admits. “I think that’ll last me for a lifetime, so I’m good. That was enough sorrow for one year. So I’ve been through it enough to where if I have a song, I can sing about it and I know the experience.”

Tell us more about said Mr. Wrong, Kelly! “He was just a really loser guy and that kind of whole situation. I was never in love with him. We’re completely different. I don’t even know why. I think that is how lonely you get sometimes, when you’re like, ‘Well, you don’t look so bad.’ That was bad, but I got a lot of songs out of it!” Well, at least the single lady is honest.

Sunrise’s Melanie Amaro aims for ‘X Factor’ title

Apparently even Simon Cowell knows he’s not infallible.

Seasoned viewers of American Idol, a series he judged for nine of its 10 seasons, and the new American version of The X Factor that premiered in September, know that his ego is big enough to have its own dressing room.

“I had no idea that he was coming,” Amaro insisted during a telephone chat from the Los Angeles X Factor set. “All I was told was that they wanted to do catch-up work from boot camp [week.] I didn’t have a hint in my head they were coming to tell me I was coming back. It was weird having him walk in my home. They didn’t have a clue, either.”
