‘Dancing with the Stars” voting system is secure against multiple votes fraud: ABC producer

“It’s possible to register lots of email addresses, but the IP address identifies which computer sent it, “executive producer Conrad Green told the Daily News. “If that does happen, we wipe out [those votes]. We have a number of security checks to identify people trying to multiple vote.”

While he would not reveal specific details for “security purposes, ” he said that votes associated with texts, emails and phone calls go through a secure system.

Kris Allen Indulges In His Goofy Side For ‘Alright With Me’ Video

Ironically the charming, silly clip (made to say “thanks” to his fans) sells Kris as a serious music artist far better than his first two music videos ever did. Whether they’re on stage in front of thousands or by themselves in a studio, Allen and his band are having so much fun playing music together that it’s hard to watch the “Alright With Me” video and not buy them as legitimate musicians madly in love with what they do for a living. No over-dramatic symbolism or wind machines needed, thank you very much.

North Texas contingent is staying busy post-‘Idol’

It has been nearly six months since Season 9 of American Idol ended May 26, and as local Idol fans may recall, the season was heavy with singers from Dallas-Fort Worth, with Fort Worth’s Casey James coming in third, Duncanville’s Tim Urban making the top 12, and North Richland Hills’ Alex Lambert and Arlington’s Todrick Hall making the top 24.

Belying the belief that there’s little life after Idol for most contestants, all four have been keeping busy, in ways that don’t require them to, oh, put on ice skates and appear on another network’s reality show. Here’s an update on all four.

Ex-‘DWTS’ contestant explains how Bristol can easily win

For example, if nine couples score 30 and one couple gets 0 points — that’s right a total goose egg — the couples with 30s would each have 1/9 (30/270) or 11.1 percent of the total score. You would then add to that total the percentage of viewer votes that each couple got. So if the couple that got a zero from all three judges got 25 percent of the vote and none of the other couples got more than 14 percent of the vote, then the couple who got nothing but zeros from the judges would actually have won that week!

As the number of participants decline over the course of the show, the importance of the judges’ votes increase, but the popular vote is still more important. Again, because there is a limit on the scores from judges, but no limit on the number of viewer votes a couple can get.

‘Glee’ To Cover Florence And The Machine’s ‘Dog Days Are Over’

“[Burnett] plays Sue [Sylvester]’s mom, ” Bloom said. “It’s going to be fun. One of the best things we’ve been able to do with ‘Glee’ is the exploitation of the show tunes. We do our pop songs, we do our classic songs, but what we’ve been able to do with American musicals has been fantastic. And I think this is an under-explored area of pop culture. It’s stuff that the kids care about, clearly, because they’ve responded so incredibly to the musicals we’ve done. What we’ve been able to do for schools, musicals in schools have been great.”

So does that mean next week’s ep will be chock-full of show tunes? “This next episode with Sue and Carol Burnett is going to explore quite a bit of that, which is fantastic, ” he said.

Another bit of information Bloom let slip was a certain pop song the cast will be performing on an upcoming episode, which came up during a discussion about whether Bloom had a hand in using Florence and the Machine’s “Dog Days Are Over” in trailer for “Eat Pray Love.” He didn’t, but he did reveal that the titian-tressed VMA performer will make her mark on “Glee” very soon.
