GODSMACK Frontman Says STEVEN TYLER’s Decision To Join ‘American Idol’ Is ‘Brilliant’

When asked about AEROSMITH frontman Steven Tyler’s decision to become a judge on the new season of “American Idol”, GODSMACK frontman Sully Erna said, “I think it’s brilliant. Beyond good. I think he’s gonna be the male Paula Abdul, ’cause he’s a little bit dingy, you know what I mean?! He’s probably all pilled up, and he’s gonna be funny. I mean, he’s witty, he’s really witty.”

‘Idol’ finalist Maroulis enjoying time on Broadway with ‘Rock of Ages’

“American Idol” was a big deal, but Constantine Maroulis says playing Drew Bowie in “Rock of Ages” is “one of those once in a lifetime roles.”

But it took him a minute to actually get it — by his own choice.

Maroulis began talking to the Tony Award-nominated musical’s producers when they began putting it together in 2006, a year after he finished sixth on the fourth season of “Idol.” Co-producer Carl Levin says they were impressed with the New York singer’s “pipes of steel, ” but Maroulis, then basking in post-“Idol” opportunities, did not want to spend the time workshopping the show in Los Angeles for “no money and no guarantees.”

  1. A dream come true would be if Crystal would do a live show at the Longbranch in Raleigh, NC. Keith Urban got a start there and it would be perfect for Crystal.

  2. X Factor’s Wagner composes exit

So, I guess that Simon has ridden this train as far as he thinks it should go. Start the de-pimp in earnest. The goof-ball/can’t-sing contestants are fun to generate buzz for a while, but they must be eliminated before they go too far or it turns the entire competition into a joke.

Simon probably has scientists in the basement trying to come up with the perfect chemistry for these shows.

BTW Wagner is nowhere near as amusing as Jedward was last year. I have no problem with him going home. I just find it troubling that he’s built up as a super fun guy/life of the party for a while and now he’s a grumpy perv. These people are humans, Simon.

  3. If Wagner has been behaving inappropriately with anyone on X-Factor, then he should be slapped with a charge of sexual harassment.

  4. Clean up on aisle 3! Paging mj, we need clean up on aisle 3.

(Can the spam be erased please?)

  5. I guess that this twitter exchange means that Crystal doesn’t like “Hold On”.

VFTW: @crystalbowersox The first single blows. We understand why you don’t like it. The original songs are much better.

    Crystalbowersox: @votefortheworst thanks VFTW!

Maybe, there really will be a change in the first single.

  6. HaHa Sully love that guy and Adam really needs to get a house with lots of wall space when he comes back from Europe

  7. I’ve not really been here much lately, so forgive if this is a repeated:

Friday’s NYTimes had an article about new songs by Katy Perry, Keisha, Gaga and P!nk taking up the cause of gay rights and becoming gay anthems. It’s a good article, generally. It mentions how some of these songs are becoming popular even prior to release and helping young people in the rash of bullying and suicides. But, it also notes that many artists have been doing the same for many years and points out the possible opportunism of these releases.

All of that said, I mention it here because it includes a paragraph about Adam Lambert, as it states that some in the gay community find the popularity of these songs bittersweet, because it’s unlikely that Adam could do the same. Which, of course, is true since he apparently cannot even seriously contemplate releasing Fever to US radio because he uses a two-letter pronoun “he” to describe his love interest. :-(

Anyway, here’s the link and again I apologize if I’m duplicating…

  8. If Wagner has been behaving inappropriately with anyone on X-Factor, then he should be slapped with a charge of sexual harassment.

90% of the tabloids stories are made up. Who knows what Wagner has done, if anything!

  9. My issue with Gaga is that right before every new single she has to tell us that THIS SONG is going to be the new gay anthem.

  10. Adam really needs to get a house with lots of wall space when he comes back from Europe

It makes me so proud, which is stupid because I don’t know him, but I’m proud nonetheless.

Smeggs big Ditto on your Gaga comment. I’m starting to think the same about Ke$ha.

It’s kind of ironic that their videos show guys kissing but can you imagine the uproar if Adam did it. Hopefully, in my lifetime, he’ll get to kiss a guy, have a guy in is video as a love interest, and the world won’t freak out.

Which, of course, is true since he apparently cannot even seriously contemplate releasing Fever to US radio because he uses a two-letter pronoun “he” to describe his love interest.

But if Ke$ha released it and it said “she”, there’d be no problem.

I will say, I prefer to look at the positive for the most part. Adam has gold status on his album here in the US, platinum on a single, gold on another single. I think that’s more than what we could’ve hoped for even a few years ago from an openly gay male pop artist.

  11. Kesha is vile and gross. If they play her new track on radio, it will be another reason for me to stop listening to radio because radio now is poor and a bore. How does she think families of victims of Dahmer feel about this? She’s sick. And who finds these lyrics entertaining? They’re sick.

“Whenever you tell me I’m pretty/That’s when the hunger really hits me/Your little heart goes pitter patter/I want your liver on a platter/Use your finger to stir my tea/And for dessert I’ll suck your teeth/Be too sweet and you’ll be a goner/Yeah, I’ll pull a Jeffrey Dahmer.”

    http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1651590/20101105/kesha_.jhtml

  12. HappyDaisy
Sadly its Kesha and more than likely they will release Cannible to radio…I am still shocked that the We R song in starting to chart…but then I hated Gaga’s Alejandro and it went top 10 and that song is horrible *shrug* that why I don’t listen to Top 40 radio that much or radio at all for that matter

  13. But if Ke$ha released it and it said “she”, there’d be no problem.

Well, yeah, because for some reason girl on girl stuff is “hot” even for many people who can’t quite accept a boy being with a boy.

  14. I am still shocked that the We R song in starting to chart

Haha, it came on the radio yesterday and I lasted about 2 seconds before I couldn’t take it anymore. I’d rather listen to Gaga over and over (and I’m not a Gaga fan) all day long than sit through Ke$ha songs. Bleh.

  15. lol, Archie dancing… and of course there wont be video of this. I think its a conspiracy. lol

  16. Crystal tweets: @jeffkazee Love that u giged w me, Colin J. Hay… Makes me feel totally cool. Get your Lebowski on Wednesday. We’re drinking Caucasians.

Colin Hay might be a possible collaborator for Crystal’s album. The mysterious co-writer perhaps? Love his song “Are you lookin’ at me?”.

Current musicians who might appear on the album: Jeff Kazee on keyboard, Tommy Byrnes on guitar, Greg Smith on bass, Frankie May on bass, Chad Szeliga on drums, Chuck Burgi on drums. I think Jeff and Chad might be the confirmed ones for now, hmmm. Did I miss anyone?

  17. I’m not sure Cannibal will be a radio single. Has US radio ever played song with the word anus in it? LMAO. And with the tarzan call in the bridge, I don’t think that will go over that well. I’m not loving the new songs from the EP and won’t be buying it, but I have to admit she makes me laugh, sorry. *ducks*. She could have left out Dahmer and gone with Hannibal Lector from the movie, rhymes better anyway.

Kesha’s lyrics are just more literal than metaphorical, compared to Gaga’s ‘Monster’ ‘He ate my heart and then he ate my brain.’ It’s not like Kesha is actually eating anyone.

Well, yeah, because for some reason girl on girl stuff is “hot” even for many people who can’t quite accept a boy being with a boy.

    ugh, it is incredibly frustrating.

  18. David…danced. With a professional dancer. Choreographed. The guy I’ve been a fan of for 2 years. The guy who says he can’t. Is this for real?? lol. There had better darn well be video somewhere.

  19. I like the idea of arranging the songs on Crystal’s CD based on Tony’s groove lol :)

Couldnt be crazier than having a generic pop song as first single for a anything-but-pop CB album ;-)

  20. I think Jeff and Chad might be the confirmed ones for now, hmmm. Did I miss anyone?

Tommy Byrnes definitely played guitar on some of the tracks – check out David B’s website for confirmation. Also, Crystal mentioned in a tweet to Kazee that she was hanging with Tommy. I think Greg Smith may have played bass guitar but I’m not 100% certain that he ended up on the album. Chad Szeliga is going to play drums, at least temporarily, for Crystal’s live performances but I’m not sure if he played on her album.(maybe Burgi instead? ) David tweeted that John Widgren played some steel guitar on four of the tracks but it’s possible he wasn’t referring to Crystal’s music. (but I think he was)

So, for me anyway, Jeff Kazee on keys and Tommy on guitar are the only confirmed musicians who played on her album. The others are just strong guesses at this point.

  21. RE: the VFTW tweets….Crystal…. I really wonder if she is thankful at all for the opportunities she now has. Seriously, does she think Melissa Ethridge will want to perform with her in two years if she becomes a flop?

  22. Colin Hay might be a possible collaborator for Crystal’s album. The mysterious co-writer perhaps?

Well, I´d love if her other co-write was Michael Franti. My fav of his is “Is Love Enough” I don´t live in the States, did this song not get any radio play? And if so, what genre would it belong to? Please listen and let me know what you think

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfUblPoBQIg&feature=related

  23. I wonder how Lee and Crystal are going to do in terms of bantering with the crowd at their live shows. They are going to have to be ready for anything, because some of the stuff that gets yelled out (especially at the smaller venues where it’s easier to hear) is pretty funny (and sometimes a little inappropriate). I posted a video in the Valparaiso concert thread of Kris bantering with some guys in the crowd last night — and look how comfortable he is. Whether that’s because of his personality or because of the experience he’s gotten playing in front of crowds over the last year or so, I don’t know (probably a bit of both). But it does make me wonder on what kin of interaction Lee and Crystal will have with their audiences and how comfortable they will be in terms of banter.

  24. RE: the VFTW tweets….Crystal…. I really wonder if she is thankful at all for the opportunities she now has. Seriously, does she think Melissa Ethridge will want to perform with her in two years if she becomes a flop?

Yes, she is very grateful, said so 100s of times in 100s of ways. Judging from what Melissa says, what some would call a flop, would mean the opposite for her. Either way, I see her and Crystal working a lot together in various ways in years to come

  25. Well, I´d love if her other co-write was Michael Franti. My fav of his is “Is Love Enough” I don´t live in the States, did this song not get any radio play? And if so, what genre would it belong to? Please listen and let me know what you think

According to the last chart update on the Pulse thread dedicated for it, a different song got #20 on HAC. #1 in AAA if I’m reading it correctly.

    22 20 MICHAEL FRANTI & SPEARHEAD The Sound Of Sunshin… 1061 986 75 3.898

That one at least has some life to it. The other one is one seriously depressing, droning song to me, I don’t get it at all.

  26. So, for me anyway, Jeff Kazee on keys and Tommy on guitar are the only confirmed musicians who played on her album.

Thanks AndreaH, you are a better detective than me:) OK so its Jeff and Tommy. I totally forgot about John Widgren. JW definitely played the steel guitars on CBs track. Check tweet exchange between Brian Walker and David Bendeth.

@BrianWalkerLive: @davidbendeth LOVE steel guitar…whats it going on?
    @DAVIDBENDETH: @BrianWalkerLive about 4 songs. U coming over tomorrow?

So thats Jeff Kazee, John Widgen and Tommy Byrnes confirmed to be on it.

    Eriko:
And if so, what genre would it belong to? Please listen and let me know what you think

I listened to it, reminds me of Tom Morello’s solo album One Man Revolution (The Nightwatchman)- check sample here. I think I would classify it under folk or acoustic rock. My fav of Michael Franti is also similar (Oh My God) to it, started listening very recently though.

  27. I wonder how Lee and Crystal are going to do in terms of bantering with the crowd at their live shows…snip”

Obviously, it will progress and evolve as time goes by, but I think it will be in a very personal matter in Crystals case. She herself has mentioned how much she likes how quite the crowed is when Ray Lamontagne performs, just soaking every note and word in. Guess she´d like that from her own audience also. But to soon to say I guess

  28. I don’t know that Crystal and Lee will have to be all that skilled at banter right away. Adam doesn’t really banter with the audience that much, but his concerts have done really really well. Maybe there’s not as much need for banter when the crowd isn’t as intimate. Different performers have different staging and audience interaction. I can see Crystal being very serious about the music and the vibe she’s projecting with some really chill moments going on and I think Lee will have an easygoing fun vibe going on. I think as long as Lee and Crystal perform well, that’s all that will matter in the long run. Plus, I think the more they do it, the better they will get if they have to banter.

  29. I wonder how Lee and Crystal are going to do in terms of bantering with the crowd at their live shows.

This is interesting to think about it.

Lee- If a girl (perhaps a guy even) yells ‘I love you’ he will reply back ‘I will love you too’. Other than that I dont see any response coming from him.

Crystal- I think Crystal will probably stop the show and confront the person, try to resolve it then and there. If confrontation is not solved I think she will take it on twitter and we’ll have a nice ranting (followed by fans of cos) lol. I suspect mjs will be very busy that day ;-)

  30. That one at least has some life to it. The other one is one seriously depressing, droning song to me, I don’t get it at all.

Ok LOL..different strokes….I like it much more than his upbeat songs. “Is Love Enough” grabbed me the first time I listened when my teenage daughter introduced it to me. The melody, vocals, words and arrangements

  31. My guess is that Lee and Crystal are going to be playing mainly smaller venues, at least at the beginning of their careers. And it’s been my experience that these smaller shows tend to have a lot of crowd participation. So that’s why I was wondering — just a random thought for a lazy Sunday morning :)

  32. I listened to it, reminds me of Tom Morello’s solo album One Man Revolution

Can´t say I hear the similarities :) Even during Franti´s slow song, I hear a little Reggie. Maybe because much of his music on Yell Fire is

  33. I wonder how Lee and Crystal are going to do in terms of bantering with the crowd at their live shows.

I think Crystal will do a lot of bantering just to make the audience feel comfortable. She seems like the type that talks a lot about her life experiences and what a song means to her. Lee on the other hand can either be really shy and quiet or pretty talkative and joke around a lot. I guess it depends on his mood.

  34. Does anyone know if Glee ever cast anyone from those myspace auditions? It seems like nothing ever came from that. Just wondering because I was looking at Idol spoilers and some myspace people have made it to hollywood, so it looks like idol definitely utilized their myspace auditions.

  35. just a random thought for a lazy Sunday morning :)

:) I know what you mean

  36. Most of the call outs Lee has gotten from audiences so far is girls shrieking “I love you Lee!” to which he answers, “I love you, too!”He seems to be a really funny guy, according to the other contestants and people who have worked with him, so I’m looking forward to hearing some of that.
As for Crystal, she has interacted some with audience members on the tour this summer-I’m sure she’ll be fun to watch.

I really wish Crystal had not responded to VFTW.I haven’t clicked on that site since last year when I saw the vile things they were saying about Adam, but I have no doubt they were equally nasty to her fellow contestants this year.

  37. Can´t say I hear the similarities Even during Franti´s slow song, I hear a little Reggie. Maybe because much of his other songs on Yell Fire are

Yeah he has a perfect reggae voice, (listen to his phrasing) but the song sounds more folk to me than reggae, atleast the first part. The last part is actually more reggae than folk, so its err folk reggae? or could be acoustic reggae as well…

  38. And with the tarzan call in the bridge, I don’t think that will go over that well.

How quickly people forget Baltimora – Tarzan Boy

  39. I really wish Crystal had not responded to VFTW

In my experience, when Crystal has her twitter parties, she just answers as the questions come. Often from fans of other AI contestants and even ones who are trying to give her a hard time. She just doesn´t judge others and takes them as they are, with kindness

  40. How quickly people forget Baltimora – Tarzan Boy

damnit Kirsten, I had successfully blocked that out from my memory! Not anymore.

  41. Yeah he has a perfect reggae voice, (listen to his phrasing) but the song sounds more folk to me than reggae, atleast the first part.

Oh, I agree. It´s very subtle I was talking about

  42. My guess is that Lee and Crystal will do fine interacting with crowds when they are playing smaller venues. They (and the others singers) really didn’t have much opportunity to do this during the Idols Live tour.

The real challenge is when artists move up to large venues and can’t interact with individual fans but try to create a feeling of connection, intimacy with a large audience. A few are good at it. Some like Lady Gaga wear a “mask” and the character interacts with the audience, most don’t bother to try, but a few (P!nk comes to mind) can do it.

But with an audience of even 3,000+ people, unless you bring someone up on stage and give them a mike, kind of boring for the audience to only see and here one side of a conversation. That informal audience banter only works in clubs.

VFTW: @crystalbowersox The first single blows. We understand why you don’t like it. The original songs are much better.

    Crystalbowersox: @votefortheworst thanks VFTW!

Is the rest of the album available? Has VFTW heard the rest of the tracks?

I am not a huge fan of “Hold On” but it does seem like a good radio track. And I guess I am hoping the rest of the album is completely unsuitable for pop radio and, therefore, good music.

I really do not want to here Crystal singing “I M who I M” or some other silliness.

  43. Q3
Is the rest of the album available? Has VFTW heard the rest of the tracks?

I am guessing they probably hear her sing her originals via YT like here

  44. Ha, I went to high school with Karina’s finance Brad Penny. He played baseball in school and then went on to the majors.

  45. I will say, I prefer to look at the positive for the most part. Adam has gold status on his album here in the US, platinum on a single, gold on another single. I think that’s more than what we could’ve hoped for even a few years ago from an openly gay male pop artist.

Oh, I completely agree. I just found it interesting (even a little impressive) that the NYTimes saw fit to highlight the point and also reference Adam (and call him a “pop star” too, appealing to my more superficial side lol.)

P.S. I don’t listen to Keisha ever, no matter how much Adam says he loves her. :-)

  46. Is the rest of the album available? Has VFTW heard the rest of the tracks?

Well a lot of her originals from her album are posted on YT. They’re just acoustic demos, so the studio versions should be a little different. But I’m guessing that’s where the people from VFTW heard it from.

  47. Adam announced that he will be teaming up with an international charity — similar to what he has done with DonorsChoose.org in the US. No details yet, but since so many of his fans are from outside the US, I am pleased he is adding another charity.

Hopefully it will be as good a choice as DC.org. :)

  48. I know we can only speculate but I took Crystal’s response to VFTW as not 100% serious and some percentage sarcastic. Didn’t she do a snarky shoutout to them during s9 based on the Pigpen nickname? I’m not saying I know what she meant and I definitely haven’t been loving some of the stuff she’s said on Twitter but this one wasn’t a big deal. IMHO and I’m not saying I 100% knew what she meant.

I’m interested in hearing what her album sounds like. I still don’t think she’s got a country voice but it seems like some of the songs could sound country as far as production. I’d definitely rather the production lean away from pop and even rock.

I love Loretta’s comment about Carrie.

  49. Didn’t she do a snarky shoutout to them during s9 based on the Pigpen nickname?

    Yes

I love Loretta’s comment about Carrie.

I do too, and I think she is 100% correct in her assessment lol

  50. I posted a video in the Valparaiso concert thread of Kris bantering with some guys in the crowd last night — and look how comfortable he is. Whether that’s because of his personality or because of the experience he’s gotten playing in front of crowds over the last year or so, I don’t know (probably a bit of both)

girlygirl, did you see my recap in the Tulsa thread? When Kris needed his guitar tuned he had a moment of downtime on stage and for some reason I blurted out for him to sing Oklahoma to us. His interaction with us was so hilarious and it definitely made for a memorable moment for me! He has a great snarky sense of humor and seems to be able to think fast on his feet. I’m not sure how much Lee and Crystal will interact with the crowds at first but I have a feeling once they get more experience they will be fine at it.

Well if you add in that about the same time she told her twitter followers to go harass Jive about Hold On I think it might be safe to assume that she is not being all that snarky towards them but just agreeing with them YMMV

  52. Is the rest of the album available? Has VFTW heard the rest of the tracks?

Nope but Crystal has heard her singing that song and she thinks its not a good song for her. Could be years of performing clubs, bars trying to make her voice unique and not sound like another coffee-shop singer. Rem’ber it took just one person to say to her ‘you sound like Jewel’ and instantly she stopped covering jewel tunes. For some artists uniqueness could be a virtue, a representation of self and a trait they simply cannot forgo. I am not saying that is the reason behind it, Crystal would only know that reason.

As for what has been put on YT, thats not her total portfolio of songs (a 120 or so songs) nonetheless all those songs are instantly recognizable as Crystal songs. And there is no way that any of those sounds even remotely to a song like Hold On both lyrically or melodically.

Regarding POP, HAC or whatever format that has to be radio friendly I am sure there are plenty amongst Crystal’s or even co-writes, even someone elses song that could have been a better fit for Crystal and the rest of her album. Hold On just doesnt work for me. If its the first single I am expecting it to be overproduced and if its not the single, its not going to be on that album.

  53. smeggingnuts: You may be right, I just thought there was something to her actually naming VFTW.

Idols Now just tweeted that Kellie Pickler will be Ellen’s red carpet correspondent for the CMAs so that means there’ll be a new Kellie segment on Ellen coming up. Kellie’s pretty much guaranteed herself a performance on Ellen when her new album comes out :)

Carrie and Brad are doing a press conference for the CMA Awards right now, judging from radio station tweets.

  54. Danny seems to be doing media today for CMA Week.

Haven’t seen the WQIK video posted yet, but another station posted a photo with Danny. http://twitpic.com/34twy3

Bo Bice seems to be there today as well. He was way before I started watching AI. Here’s a pic though for anyone who’d be interested. Did he cut his hair?

  55. I’m interested in hearing what her album sounds like. I still don’t think she’s got a country voice but it seems like some of the songs could sound country as far as production. I’d definitely rather the production lean away from pop and even rock.

I am hoping that Chrystal album is folk-rock, with rock production. That would be consistent with the music she has on her official site.

I could even see it moving to the bluegrass space a bit. With David Bendeth producing, a Buffalo Springfield cover and the Melissa Etheridge connections — I am hoping that they leave the production more rock, and neither pop or country.

Jive + Bendeth + Crystal does not seem like a path to a country album to me. With Jive and HO selected as the lead single — my only fear is that Jive will push it too far toward pop.

Anyway, still can’t image that David Bendeth would produce anything but a rock album, and he does a broad range of rock genres that highlight vocalists. Plus, Crystal would not be happy if they were turning her songs into pop princess tracks. So I am optimistic that we will get Crystal and not some autotuned vocal robot doing 12 radio friendly tracks.

  56. Q3: My main thing against rock production for Crystal is that compression and the loudness. If it’s a folk rock album that doesn’t overdo the production aspect I’d be happy.

There’s an interview in The Tennessean with the new CEO of the Country Music Association with a couple Carrie mentions in the CEO’s comments. Here’s one:

However, I will say that in the touring space, there’s an ebb and flow of just normal market activity that happens. Country music has been fortunate to develop some great breakthrough artists who have helped the format sustain itself … like Carrie Underwood, Zach Brown and the Miranda Lamberts coming up. We’ve got some exciting new artists.

  57. Thanks smeggs, I’ve been hearing about the Levi’s commercial with Strut!! So glad someone got it on video :)

  58. The people in the Adam picture receiving the gold plaque have been identified:

From left to right: Kristian Lesic (Product Manager), Edgar Berger (CEO, Sony Music Entertainment GSA), Adam & Stefan Goebel (Senior Vice President Sony Music Entertainment International GSA)

  59. I am hoping that they leave the production more rock, and neither pop or country.

Rock yes. Country yes. Pop no.

Crystal tweeted that it will be more country. But that was in response to whether it’d be country or pop. I also think the rock element will be there since its David whose producing it. He also has a knack for organic music as mentioned on the article interview so I don’t think the album will be overproduced. All in all I cant wait to hear the final product, I think it will be a good representation of Crystals music :)

  60. One more article about the Chris Evert Pro-Am Tennis Tournament.

    http://www.page2live.com/2010/11/07/david-cook-tennis-more-nerve-racking-than-american-idol/

What a guy! 300 fans lined up for a meet and greet after his match yesterday and he signed/posed for every single one.

“We sold a lot of tickets thanks to David,” said organizer [Chris] Evert (below, autographing tennis commentator Bud Collins‘ bald head). The event has raised millions for children’s charities over the past 11 years. “David actually approached us about playing. And he just started learning. I takes a lot of courage for David to do this.”

  61. Rock yes. Country yes. Pop no.

Soul yes (hopefully) I just love her soulful side. Rolling Stones – Can´t always get what you want…loved her soulful playfulness. Natural Woman and not often mentioned, but her take on Midnight Train to Georgia was one of my favorites

  62. With Jive and HO selected as the lead single — my only fear is that Jive will push it too far toward pop.

What’s wrong with POP. I feel like there’s a negative connotation associated with that word. As long as the album is organic and not overproduced, I’m fine with whatever genres are represented. Whether it’s rock, country, or even pop.

  63. Haven’t seen the WQIK video posted yet, but another station posted a photo with Danny. http://twitpic.com/34twy3

Thanks Steph, no wonder he has been so quiet on Twitter today (usually on Packer game days he has something to say, lol)

I know he’ll be signing at the Country Music Hall of Fame tomorrow.

That is not the best picture of Bo. Sit up straight buddy!

  64. I really wish Crystal had not responded to VFTW.I haven’t clicked on that site since last year when I saw the vile things they were saying about Adam, but I have no doubt they were equally nasty to her fellow contestants this year.

I agree. It’s a cesspool over there, and there are lots of people being nasty to her. Vicious.

In my experience, when Crystal has her twitter parties, she just answers as the questions come. Often from fans of other AI contestants and even ones who are trying to give her a hard time. She just doesn´t judge others and takes them as they are, with kindness.

That’s good. Then it shouldn’t bother her that VFTWers are cutting her up as we speak.

  65. What’s wrong with POP

Nothing wrong with POP…for a pop artist. Just like Country song would be wrong for Lady Gaga. But if songs like “Crazy” is considered pop, I wouldn´t mind Crystal singing that kind of pop. Just loved her acoustic version on it during that radio interview

  66. And I guess I am hoping the rest of the album is completely unsuitable for pop radio and, therefore, good music.

I’m confused. So, does that mean that WWFM and IIHY, both of which were hits on Top 40 radio aren’t “good music”? I actually think that there is some “good music” on pop radio, and there are good songs that have done well on that format.

  67. But it does make me wonder on what kin of interaction Lee and Crystal will have with their audiences and how comfortable they will be in terms of banter.

I think the crowds that will be there in a small venue will be fantards not hecklers, so they can just smile and keep going, basically ignore or respond.

I think Crystal will be quicker and wittier if response is given; Lee hasn’t been that interesting in interviews.

Some artists enjoy talking during concerts and spontaneously interacting with fans (Kris and Danny) and some don’t (Adam- although it may be more that way with his because his concert is short and highly choreographed so there is no “room” for a lot of interaction).

  68. I love Pop, always have. There’s good pop and really bad pop and many disagree on which is which ;) It’s as subjective as anything else. Good country music, bad country music. YMMV.

I’m not a big rap fan, but Eminem and Rihanna did a great job with LTWYL. Part 2 on Rihanna’s album is amazing as well. Airplanes was a good song out of CHR this year. Anything from Derulo, bad.. LOL. (Neither of these are great Pop examples really, but they were hits this year.)

    http://www.youtube.com/user/cjon886

ETA: IMO pop is being squeezed as a genre, the ladies are doing it. But without urban collabs, not many guys.

  69. What’s wrong with POP. I feel like there’s a negative connotation associated with that word. As long as the album is organic and not overproduced, I’m fine with whatever genres are represented. Whether it’s rock, country, or even pop.

I guess it depends on how you define pop music. If that means that Top 40 on US CHR Radio — that is actually popular music and is cross-genre.

If one is referring to the musical genre — by the late 60’s pop music was usually defined as music aimed at a youth market, traditionally a softer alternative to rock music but not targeted to an adult audience (Adult Contemporary). Most of The Beatles hit singles are pop music.

But I think most people now use the term to refer to a particular style of music that is defined by several prominent producers — Max Martin, Dr. Luke, Ryan Teddar, as so on. A musical style that makes use of synthetic music, vocal modification, automated percussion and engineering/computers to create a musical effect that is usually either a mid-tempo ballad or a dance track. Just like pop music in the 60’s was the alternative to rock music, pop music in 2010 is the alternative to hip hop/rap music.

There is now a gray area referred to as hip hop-pop fusion — that includes B.o.B, Katy Perry’s CG, some of Ke$ha’s music.

ETA: Just to clarify — I like a lot of pop music. I just realized I never said that!

My comment but out of concert — it was specifically about Crystal and HO which is a “radio friendly” song. So that kind of “radio friendly” pop drivel I can do without.

There is a lot of good music on Pop Radio — just not music that makes sense for Crystal to be doing. And if Jive had Crystal do anything like what is on current CHR Radio — IMO it would not be good. And Jive’s concept of “radio friendly” is usually pretty much disappointing.

Adam loves pop music, wants to do pop music and has done some quality pop music — but that has nothing to do with Crystal or HO.

The only songs on the entire Top 20 that I could imagine Crystal singing are Mine (Country pop) and Secrets. And if they mod her vocals like Secrets, they would loose everything that makes Crystal special and an artist. Just can’t see what CHR has to do with the music that seems to define Crystal as an artist.

Here is the current Top 20 — and WWFM and IIHY look nothing like this list either. Skewed toward HH-Pop fusion and Dance.

  71. I just saw the video “More on Type 1 Talk from Crystal Bowersox” that MJ posted. Crystal does a great job in this PSA. Eloquent and compelling.

  72. Q3: Actually, you were implying that any pop-suitable song on the “rest” of Crystal’s CD couldn’t possibly be “good music”. I disagree. I think that it’s possible for Crystal to have a song that is both suitable for CHR and also “good music”, as there are a number of examples of this happening.

VFTW is a playpen for idiots and is really irrelevant but is good for a laugh if you have the time. Crystal took the time to respond because….why not respond? it don’t matter!

  75. pop music in 2010 is the alternative to hip hop/rap music.

Is this really how people see it? Cause to me hip hop and rap make up a substantial portion of what I’d call “pop” music – I don’t see them as alternatives to each other at all. (Few people who hate one love the other – someone may prefer rap to pop or vice versa but if they like one, in general they’ll listen to both.)

Truthfully I still stick to what you’d call a really old-fashioned definition of pop music – that being, what’s the most “popular” kind of music today, or actually, what are the most popular songs today? To me, if you were to take the top selling singles on iTunes and/or Amazon or other places, you’ve got pop music. Doesn’t matter IMO if it’s Kesha, Gaga, Taylor Swift, Nickelback, Lady Antebellum…or Susan Boyle. I guess basically what people are saying is that pop has become its own genre – although I’d really consider that genre to be dance/hip hop fusion with a splash of rock as well.

VFTW is a playpen for idiots and is really irrelevant but is good for a laugh if you have the time. Crystal took the time to respond because….why not respond? it don’t matter!

Like them or hate them (and they’re certainly not the most upstanding and polite of internet citizens), they do quite often have good points…but yes, they do often go overboard on the personal attacks or harshness in general. I’ve wondered “what” exactly Crystal was thanking them for. Truthfully if she was thanking them for the backhanded compliment of her original work, that’s one thing. If it was thanking them for helping sabotage the song that’s a different story. But whatever. She certainly didn’t go into much detail or discussion with them – maybe she should have just not replied at all but at least this way they got a response, but one that didn’t give them any ammo to use other than the fact she responded (and she already acknowledged them during the season so it’s too late to undo that, lol).

  76. Cause to me hip hop and rap make up a substantial portion of what I’d call “pop” music

    I call that cr@p faux rap. ;)

    Here is what I wrote…

VFTW: @crystalbowersox The first single blows. We understand why you don’t like it. The original songs are much better.

    Crystalbowersox: @votefortheworst thanks VFTW!

Is the rest of the album available? Has VFTW heard the rest of the tracks?

I am not a huge fan of “Hold On” but it does seem like a good radio track. And I guess I am hoping the rest of the album is completely unsuitable for pop radio and, therefore, good music.

I really do not want to here Crystal singing “I M who I M” or some other silliness.

I wasn’t implying anything more than what I said — I am not a huge fan of HO but think it is a good radio track. And I hope that the rest of the album is not like it or the music currently on Pop radio because Chrystal recording a song like Ke$ha’s latest hit single “We R Who We R” is something I do not want to hear or purchase.

I guess my allusion/joke about “I M who I M” was not as clever or clear as I thought.

The implication of my comment is that Crystal doing music that is designed for pop radio would not be good. That is not the same as saying the music on pop radio is not good — which I have never said and do not believe.

I would love to see Crystal have a big pop hit but not at the expense of who she is as an artist. I want her to be successful in a way that is fulfilling to her and does not require her to compromise too much. That is what I want, someone else may has a different desire. Great. I will probably buy a folk-rock/indie-rock album put out by Crystal — because for me that is where she shines as a vocalist and songwriter.

I have little or no interest in Crystal recording a album of formulaic pop music designed for radio airplay — because that is not what she wants.

@Krishelle11 some of the greatest artists have never seen a radio wave. dont just eat what you’re given, find your own hits. :)
    19 Oct

In Sept she tweeted: “We love exactly what you do. Now do it differently. We can’t have an Indy type artist on a major label. Why the bleep not?”

Later Crystal explained this (and her “obedient dog tweet”): “Been an interesting day. Just frustrated with the politics of the industry. Not just jive just dissapointing how the industry has changed. Every1s hands are tied. Regardless, im having the time of my life. Thanks for all of the support, guys. i have more freedom than most signed artists, so imma stop complaining. i love what i do. i am blessed.”

I always want the artists I appreciate to have success in the way they define success. Not in the way I define success or the way about 100 radio PDs define success.

Finally, just to be clear — I happen to think Ke$ha’s music is OK and that Tik Tok is a great dance track. But I do not want Gaga doing Country, or Taylor Swift doing Hip Hop. And I sure hope that Jive leaves Crystal’s artistic integrity and vocals intact.

  78. I would call that Top 40 or Hits, but not Pop music as a genre.

But I really think different people use the term Pop music in so many ways it makes it a vague term….

Is Pop = Top 40 hits based on total airplay, sales and a bit of internet activity? Billboard Hot 100.

Is Pop = to the songs that get the most airplay on the 143 US radio stations that Mediabase monitors as Top 40 Stations. (AKA CHR format)?

Is Pop = a genre or style of music?

Or is it something else. Many songs are Top 40 songs but not Pop genre as in a style of music.

And then what is the Pop Genre. Is Electro Hop a pop subgenre? I would say it is Pop-Hip Hop fusion. What is “Love the Way You Lie”? I would say it is Hip Hop but it is a Pop Hit.

To me, Pop Genre includes WWFM, IIHY, Already Gone, Teenage Dream and Electro Pop like California Gurls. But what about Billionaire? The artist and label classify it as Hip Hop.

Finally, if Pop just mean Popular Music vs. Classical Music — the original definition from the 1920s well then popular music needs to be discussed by genres if you want to discuss artistic direction and what genre is a mid-tempo ballad like WWFM? My only answer is Pop.

  79. Well, yeah, because for some reason girl on girl stuff is “hot” even for many people who can’t quite accept a boy being with a boy.

That mindset–that it’s okay for girl on girl action to be televised–can be seen as sexist as easily as it can be seen as homophobic toward gay men.

  80. Did we know that WWFM would be featured in an ice dancing routine? Just saw it on some NBC show.

  81. Susan Boyle filmed her first music video

Thanks billboard for putting Lou Reed’s version up…it helped wash out the bad taste in my mouth after I watched and listened to SuBo destroy this beautiful song. She has no phrasing, doesn’t breath at the right spots for effect, and her voice sounds the same from the first note to the last. Is she auto-tuned?

  82. Susan Boyle filmed her first music video

err can she even sing in a different tempo at all?

  83. Thanks billboard for putting Lou Reed’s version up…it helped wash out the bad taste in my mouth after I watched and listened to SuBo destroy this beautiful song.

You made it longer than I did… Not the worst thing I’ve ever heard of hers (I managed to listen to maybe twice as much of this one as “Wild Horses”, lol), but do.not.get the Susan Boyle appeal at all.

My 70-ish mother loves her though, so there’s that :)

  84. I noticed SuBo’s CD is going to be on sale for 7.99 this week. Bet she’s going to sell a crapload again!

  85. I think Crystal gets VFTW so was just thanking them for what was heartfelt commiseration VFTW style. I’m actually hopeful about what she does with Hold On–look how she transformed I’m Alright.

  86. Danny pictured with Jimmy Carter at the CMA media events today. Photos aren’t captioned but the others look to me like Little Big Town and Mel Tillis.

    http://askjimmycarter.blogspot.com/2010/11/cma-warm-up-radio-event.html

Jimmy is the Nashville entertainment writer who was raving about Danny after the Sony holiday party last year where Danny performed O Holy Night and several songs from his album for an industry crowd.

  87. Lady Gaga won three prizes: Best Female, Song, and Pop honors,
Best New Act went to KE$HA, Justin Bieber won the Best Male Artist award, Paramore the Best Alternative act, and Eminem got the Best Hip Hop award.

Next big awards ceremony will be the AMAs where I’m sure we’ll see the same people win.

Well I sure by then Bieber will have gone through puberty and will win Best Female instead.

  88. Interviews starting to surface from CMA Week. Danny talks in this one about writing sessions this weekend. It’s been a little unclear if the new material Danny is working on would be for an EP or full second album but sounds like it is the latter according to recent interviews.

Also Casey appears in a third short clip, and says he will not have an album out until early summer.

ETA: certain1, lol, guess we got those at the same time. The Casey interview is the same in both of these.

  89. I am glad that Danny is doing media for CMA week. And also that Casey is doing media as well.

I was glad to hear Danny mention today that he has been in the studio writing songs. And I think it’s interesting that Casey’s album might not be out until the beginning of summer.

It looks like his label is going to take their time with his album. I am looking forward to seeing more interviews from Danny/Casey and learning more about their upcoming music projects.

At first I thought that maybe Danny was putting out an EP but now I think they are working on his second studio album. I am glad that he is getting to do songwriting for this album. I am interested in seeing what he comes up with and learning which songwriters he’s writing with.

  91. Well I sure by then Bieber will have gone through puberty and will win Best Female instead

Okay, will someone please explain this joke to me.

  92. Danny seems to be enjoying the songwriting efforts lately, and working hard at it. It will be interesting to find out what type of songs he is doing, and who the collaborators may be.

  94. Danny seems to be enjoying the songwriting efforts lately, and working hard at it. It will be interesting to find out what type of songs he is doing, and who the collaborators may be.

I am glad that he’s enjoying songwriting.Maybe we might get some more details about his songwriting process this week during the round of media he will doing. I think that Casey might reveal some more information about his album this week as well. I think that CMA Week, will be fun for them both.

  95. Also Casey appears in a third short clip, and says he will not have an album out until early summer.

I’ve wondered lately whether Casey dropped off the face of the earth, lol. Good to hear that at least something is going on, but wow, early summer.

Hey…someone had tossed out there that maybe Crystal had co-written with one of the other Idols while on tour. Maybe it’s the best kept secret of S9 and Crystal wrote something with Casey, and he’ll be playing on the song on her album too. I’d really love to hear such a collaboration. ;-) Their styles seem like they’d work well together too…

Not expecting it though, of course.

  96. “We sold a lot of tickets thanks to David,” said organizer [Chris] Evert. The event has raised millions for children’s charities over the past 11 years. “David actually approached us about playing. And he just started learning. I takes a lot of courage for David to do this.”

I just had to laugh because someone said only successful multi-millionaire like Carrie Underwood or Ryan Seacrest could do charities throwing out a little bit of money. If you are not a mega star, you would be assumed to take advantage of charities to gain fame. In this event, he approached them first. Suspicious intent? Whoever said that, bull crap!

  97. He is saying his album won’t be out until summer most likely.

I’m glad we finally get some Casey news, although I’m surprised his album won’t be out until early summer? :( That surprises me because he is a seasoned performer and has written before, I would have expected his album to come out earlier than that. I hope he can still be on Idol; perhaps to sing his lead single. And I wonder if he will do a radio tour?

Did he get a hair cut? Looks like it! Looking forward to hearing more interviews with him.

And with Danny. I love Danny’s vintage shirts, lol, I wonder where he picks those up.

At first I thought that maybe Danny was putting out an EP but now I think they are working on his second studio album.

I get that feeling too Jx223. I would rather have a full album; to be honest than an EP. I am so curious to know who he is writing with, but we may not know; there was no clue as to who wrote the songs on his first album until he started on his radio tour.

  98. OK, I can now confirm that Greg Smith played bass guitar on Crystal’s album, maybe even some backing vocals. :) I had to use Google’s cached page of his website (gsmith.com) in order to view the blurb below and I swear her name wasn’t there a few weeks ago:

Greg is currently the bassist / vocalist for Ted Nugent. Greg sings the backgrounds and lead on 3 songs. “Hey Baby from the 1st Ted Nugent album, “Need You Bad” from the Weekend Warriors album, and “Just What tghe Doctor Ordered”. Greg has also been the bassist, and backing vocals for such artists as Alice Cooper, Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, Alan Parsons Project, CRYSTAL BOWERSOX, Blue Oyster Cult, Dokken, Graham Bonnett, Over the Rainbow, Tommy James & the Shondells, The Turtles, Chuck Negron, Felix Cavaliere, Mitch Ryder, Denny Laine, Joey Molland, Vinnie Moore, Joe Lynn Turner, Van Helsing’s Curse, O2’L and Wendy O. Williams. Greg was also the principal bassist and backing vocals for the Tony Award winning Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp musical “Movin Out” for it’s entire 3 year run on Broadway and 1 year on the road.

Smith, 47, is on the road with Nugent through Sept. 6, and says in an e-mail that he then is scheduled to go into the studio to work on “American Idol” runner-up Crystal Bowersox’s debut disc

This album sure has the makings of some rock/folk rock to me. I’m getting anxious to hear it.

G Smith did tweet that he jammed with Crystal n Jeff Kazee.. More or less confirmed for me after that. Also John Widgren on steel guitar. M very anxious to hear the sliding guitars on the album :)

  100. M very anxious to hear the sliding guitars on the album

I’m still trying to figure out what type of songs will have the steel guitar? I understand that David used it on four songs but what sound is he going for? I’ve always associated the steel guitar with country/bluegrass and sometimes with the blues. I have to tell ya that I’m not a big fan of bluegrass so I hope Crystal isn’t going in that direction.

  101. Is it just me — or does it seem totally wrong that most of the MTV Europe awards went to American artists. Even Justin Bieber moved from Canada to Atlanta.

  102. Folks, you can take a sneak listen to Crystal singing, Hold On and Farmer’s Daughter if you go to:
http://www.hipredictor.com You listen and rate songs that are soon to be released.
I signed up and selected AAA, Classic Rock, and Top 40. Crystal’s song, Hold On showed up as one of the songs in my selection.

It’s strange for me to finally hear FD with a full band and back up singers. You can definitely tell it’s her singing, and the song is not over produced. I like it, and she sounds great, but it doesn’t have that same raw quality I felt that her original acoustic version has. Hold On sounds catchy, and again her voice sounds very good, but, for me, it still feels more like a Kelly Clarkson song than a Crystal song.

Could be almost anything — rock, folk-rock, country-rock, blues, bluegrass or even blues.

ETA: Just listened to hitpredictor.com tracks — FD and HO — both sound over produced to me and well not what I hoped for. :( Well there are 10 more tracks :)

I’ve listened to it as well, makes me wanna puke :( Is this the price you pay if they wanted to play your songs on the radio? FD is way too overproduced (the backing chorus? really, too muchh) and it has lost its meaning totally, IMO. After listening to it I hate pop songs even more…

HO as expected sounds like Kelly Clarkson, not Crystal Bowersox. This is so dissapointing…

  105. I listened to Crystal’s songs on hit predictor. I thought Farmer’s Daughter was over produced-I wish they had let her do an acoustic version of this.
However, I really like Hold On. Crystal’s voice sounds beautiful even though I agree, it sounds like a Kelly Clarkson song. I think it could do really well on the radio and help sell her album.

  106. I heard the two songs earlier too, and I agree that FD was so much better stripped down. I wasn’t too crazy about HO either, but of the two, I actually preferred HO.

  107. I too went and sign in so I could listen to the songs…
Hold On is pure slop for me although Crystal has a nice recording voice.

Very surprised about Farmer’s Daughter. It’s too fast for that kind of lyrics and story. I much prefer the demo version. It’s intimate and raw. This sounds like it was produced to be a hit on radio (with the chorus behind). It’s weird. I’m surprised she recorded it that way.

  108. Long time Bowersox-fan-who-is-also-a-lurker here. I listened to Hold On and Farmer’s Daughter. Didn’t care much for HO, and I must be alone in saying that I liked FD. But I agree, FD sounds much better stripped down.

  109. Crystal has a nice recording voice.
Hold On is pop leaning, FD country leaning. Neither is my style, but they sound quite good to me.
I agree that HO sounds like a Kelly song, but I am a fan of her material.

  110. Both songs actually sound good to me, Crystal has a very good recording voice. But I agree, I prefer the stripped down version of Farmer’s Daughter much more. Between the 2, I think I like Hold On more.

  111. I already have an acoustic version of FD (Don’t ask me how I got it) don’t need another one so I’m okay with the produced one. HO seems overproduced but radio friendly. While I prefer FD I think HO seems to be more appropriate for a single. C sings both songs well.

  112. I think it’s just a bit of a shock to Crystal fans to hear her music actually produced. I love both versions of FD and think that it could be a radio hit. Hold On has hit potential for sure, but it does not sound like a Crystal song. I can hear it being sung by a dozen other artists, it’s the usual generic crap that gets turned out all the time.
Does anyone else think there is still a debate at Jive about whether the single will be HO or FD? Makes me wonder why those are the only 2 tracks that were released to the site for review. I know Crystal tweeted the other day about the single still being up in the air. Wonder if they are getting better feedback about FD than they expected. I sure hope so!

  113. From what I have seen people post HitPredictor posts all sorts of songs that were never intended to be released as sinlges. So FD being posted doesn’t really mean anything.

    From the HitPredictor.com FAQs section:

Really, it’s a win-win for everyone. The labels and artists get your help making critical decisions about their music, and not only do you get to hear their music before anyone else, but you also get points that you can trade in for the great prizes we keep in our prize store.

A critical decision for 2 unreleased [confirmed to be on album] tracks before the album is released sounds like market research to see which is the better single.

The whole purpose of that website is to identify which songs are going to be hits. So no, I still think the single is ‘up in the air’ as said by Crystal and it could either be FD or HO.

  115. fictitiousreality, fans can submit new artists or songs, and it is how many songs make their lists.
Who knows who submitted FD. It could be any of the bloggers or journalists who got hold of the song.
It would be surprising if it was the label because labels don’t usually want new songs to be known before they officially premiere.

This is my thinking as well. It doesn’t make sense for them to choose only these 2 songs to submit for reviews unless they are looking for market research in order to make decisions about the single.
Just to be safe I made sure to state my preference for FD, just in case anyone with decision making power will read the comments. Can’t hurt right?

Springboard: I’d be suprised if anyone outside of the label had access to these tracks. Jive has to know that her die hard fans have all heard the original FD and the demo for HO is floating around already, so I could see them releasing these to the website without fear of losing much in the way album anticipation.

  117. Just to be safe I made sure to state my preference for FD, just in case anyone with decision making power will read the comments. Can’t hurt right?

:) nope, ty. I know that generic pop is well very generic but has the type of pop songs changed since Kelly sang that song Breakaway. Is HO the type of pop song you hear nowadays as well? I know that song HO has more lure but its totally blind lyrics, on the other hand FD has very meaningful lyrics, and it sounds equally good for a country hit I think.

At the end of the day it depends on how many participants of both genre are in the voting process. I know this would sound very generalized but I think it also depends how much country fans pay attention to the lyrics Vs number of top 40 pop fans? No offense there for any genre fans btw, JMT

  118. Who knows who submitted FD. It could be any of the bloggers or journalists who got hold of the song.

I am sorry I dont see any reason here. What is their reason?

Bloggers are notorious bunch, if they got hold of a song, they would publish it on their blogs to drive more traffic for their sites. They have no reason to put a song on Survey/Opinion website and neither does journalists. Does the label give snippets to the journalists to take home? And they cannot make up their mind for their review so they publish on a Survey site? lol sounds like a v stupid theory. By the way they just finished recording all the songs yesterday only so I dont think they had that ‘first listen’ preview meeting yet.

It would be surprising if it was the label because labels don’t usually want new songs to be known before they officially premiere.

Ofcos they dont but they do market research. This looks like a very comprehensive, unbiased (and might I also add cheap) market research method. Also the fact that they are rushing to choose the single makes me think this method was chosen by the higher ups. Its also not a full song, its just a listening snippet.

This I would say is a leak. And its quite common on the internet. Every now and then there is unreleased film scripts out there, leaked songs, etc. Also did I mention that these were the 2 songs up for the first single?

  119. Ofcos they dont but they do market research. This looks like a very comprehensive, unbiased (and might I also add cheap) market research method.

A method that’s open to fan votes is definitely biased, and the idols always do excessively well in those.

The fans are going to vote in drove for FD because Crystal wrote it, but it won’t mean that it is the one that the general public would prefer, and the one that is the most radio friendly.

  120. A method that’s open to fan votes is definitely biased, and the idols always do excessively well in those.

Lol and do they. But this isnt really known like there was a public announcement for it. A registered user of tt site who happened to be a Crystal Fan broke the news, if I remember correctly. From there it was like bees to honey. At first it wasnt easy to find the songs cos it was all random and then someone figured the categories set up, then someone downloaded and put up the links as above. I think the song would have already been taken out from the website by now. But whats done is done now. Anyways its not the full song so there is still much to look forward to in the songs.

I think voting on the internet (if it didnt leak like this lol perhaps or perhaps not) is an adequate sampling as population is large and at random. Even if fans do vote, they are still representive of that target market and might be even more honest than regular voters.

  121. The fans are going to vote in drove for FD because Crystal wrote it, but it won’t mean that it is the one that the general public would prefer, and the one that is the most radio friendly.

Yup, and this will probably not be the only factor in determining what the single will be. So it doesnt matter really, but good news is the single is not set in stone yet :)

  122. HO sounds like it should be on the Oral Roberts Religious Hour. I agree with Crystal….yeech! Should have known with Kara being involved. You can’t make chicken salad out of chicken doodoo.

  123. Nice to see that Big Mike is still supporting Siobhan Magnus’ uncle’s band Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra (URO) with his wardrobe choice. I recall that he wore that t-shirt quite often on the show and on tour.
